On Saturday we sold off all 16 of our remaining Nigerian Dwarfs.
Our herd was cut in half.
All of the hard work building our herd from the ground up came to an end.
All the pretty colors.
The doeling that’s grandmother was born on our homestead.
The weeding out the bad milkers and breeding for better genetics.
The 4 & 1/2 hr drives to get the perfect addition to the herd.
The ones that have been here from the beginning.
They were all gone in an hours time.

We will now focus on building a new herd of Nubians.
The long drives for the perfect additions will begin again.
Eventually I will know the Doelings grandmother was born on our homestead.
We will continue to breed for milk production.
We will continue to keep loving on our goats.
We will continue to keep growing our herd.
Change is hard, especially when you worked your tail off and it seems as though you just gave it all up.

For now we will just keep on keeping on. ❤️

It’s no secret I despise rodents.
So when my daughter asked me to get a hamster it took a lot of convincing on her part. She did so much research and made sure she knew almost everything there is to know about hamsters.

Anyway, meet Gizmo McGiggles.
