Checking in with an update on the new location progress. We’ve been slowly peeling back the layers of this historic building, and along the way we’ve found some surprises. Some are good, some are bad, some have made us wonder what we were thinking. 🤔 Needless to say, we are committed to doing this the right way and correcting all of the problems we find along the way. (Which are many in an old building) Unfortunately, that means the wait will be a little longer to move in, but until then, enjoy some progress photos. Demolition has been daunting so far but new doors and windows should arrive shortly. Siding will be next. We’re calling this our diamond in the rough. We’re gonna make it shine! Thank you to the community members who’ve stepped in with tools and support, or just to say hi!

The drive up window is out and looking for a new home! Again, all proceeds from the sale of bank items will go into our Angel fund. So far, you’ve helped us raise $200 and helped a dog who badly needed porcupine quills removed! Thank you!!!

It’s clean out time! We’ve been working hard to clean up the basement in the new building. Now we’re moving upstairs to the main floor. We have a lot of office furniture left behind upstairs that needs to find a new home. There are beautiful antique wood and metal desks, quality file cabinets and computer storage systems. We also have room dividers, cubicles and cabinets to move. Make us an offer on anything you see. The cat is out of the bag! 🐈‍⬛ Yes, the rumors you’ve heard are true. We’ve purchased the old State Bank of Drummond building in Drummond, and will be relocating the clinic to this building. The bank building has been vacant for a while, and there is much work to be done before we can even start our transition. We’re excited to start the cleanup and renovations, and to eventually have a big, beautiful new clinic to welcome you all into! Stay tuned for updates! 🔨 🎨 🐾

Families experiencing financial hardships are welcome to stop by the shelter to register and pick up free food for their cat or dog. 🐶🐱

CHA is another rescue organization that we are happy to support. They do amazing work in the animal rescue field. Their Power of the Paws fundraiser is always a great time and a great way to help support their mission. This organization provides help for people in need of assistance getting animals spayed and neutered. We are happy to be helping them accomplish this goal! If you need assistance with spaying or neutering your pets, barn cats or feral cats, reach out to them! Don’t have a pet but want to help the cause? Send them a donation or see if they need other support or help with transportation. Let’s work together to end animal overpopulation! 🐾 ❤️

WASHBURN - Washburn animal rescue Helping PAWS expanded its low-cost "Critters Without Litters" spay/neuter program with grants from the Lupa Animal Wellness Fund, the Green Bay Packers Foundation, and the Chequamegon Food Co-op. Celebrating 20 years in business, the organization will increase subsidized appointments due to high demand, including a recent case of 64 cats from one farm. Founded in 2006, the group combats animal overpopulation by stressing the importance of spaying and neutering, especially for cats. Helping PAWS coordinates monthly clinic appointments for dogs and cats (including barn cats via live-trapping), with vaccinations offered. It turns out you CAN teach an old dog new tricks! We just wanted to take a moment to thank all of our outstanding customers for their patience the past two weeks as we've figured out our new computer software and clinic management system.
We are in the process of transitioning from mostly paper records, to all digital paperless records. This is a daunting task for a couple old ladies who have a love/hate relationship with computers! In the long run, this will streamline our operations allowing us to serve our clients and patients even better than before.
We are excited to announce our new website and our new Pet Care App. This new app will allow you to have immediate access to all of your pets' vaccination and test records at your fingertips. If you haven't already, please check it out. You'll need to sign into the app with your phone number or email address that you have on file with us at the clinic. Don't have that information? No problem! Give us a call and we can help you figure it out.
And for those old fogies like us who still prefer doing business on paper, no worries, we can still send out your reminders via postcards with USPS or with a good old fashioned phone call.

Did you know that parasites, both external and internal don’t disappear in the winter? This engorged tick and rather large tapeworm came from a couple of our patients in just the past two weeks! While it might seem safe to stop using your monthly dewormers and flea and tick products during the winter months, these things are still out there just waiting for something to jump onto or into! It’s always best practice to continue these parasite preventatives all year long. Unless you want to wake up next one of these. 😉 😅
