Good Morning Everyone!

TODAY IS SANDY’S BIRTHDAY! 🥳

She is extremely grateful to everyone who is sharing, donating, and praying! This birthday means a little more. She is here with us and that is all that we could ever ask for.

She is still resting so so much. Healing is a little tricky and starting to give her some pain. We are managing it. Her left arm still cannot be undressed and looked at until the 26th at her first follow up appointment with the orthopedic doctor. We are really hoping for the best there.

For her birthday, I’m asking everyone to share double time if you can! The further we get the word out for donations, the better! Please keep praying!

Good Morning!

Just a quick update, more details later when the orthopedic doctor comes by.

She has started physical therapy to help mobility and wake some nerves up. Her right arm has been working hard and she is able to hold her wrist up without it flopping forward. She can move both of her upper arms pretty well. Her left arm will not start physical therapy for a while and continue to be in a splint and it is very crucial that she does not move her fingers or wrist as this could completely undo the repairs that the surgeon has made.

She is definitely in higher spirits and is pushing through. She was able to rest more last night, but they are waking her every two hours for medication and vital checks. The risk of infection is extremely high and crucial to monitor.

Good evening all!

Sorry I have not given an update yet, it has been a very challenging and scary time.

My mom went into surgery this morning at 7:00 AM. They cleaned her wounds to assess the damage. Her left arm had 70% of the muscle removed. They attached some tendons together to give her mobility. With that, all of her fingers will open and close in unison…this is the best they could do with what was left alive in her arm. This has to be placed into a customized splint with absolutely no movement for 6-8 weeks. If it does not heal up properly, she may lose mobility in that arm indefinitely. Her right arm has severe nerve damage, she cannot feel anything in her fingers. This arm is expected to make a full recovery, but right now she cannot bend her elbow. Recovery is expected to take upwards of a year, and could even be longer.

She will need home healthcare to be able to eat, use the restroom, bathe, brush her teeth, and so much more.

She is so resilient and fighting to recover so hard. Please keep sharing for donations as this recovery period is going to take so much time and patience to get her back to a semi normal life.

Thank you all for sharing, donating, praying. It means THE WORLD to our family. My mom is in disbelief at all of the people who care for her. I’ve told her that she’s always been someone that EVERYONE loves, and now I think she might believe it.
