recovering from stress is also very important for puppies! The level of stress is important. he is not shut down, he's just stress panting. he was still able to eat and we kept the outing short and sweet.

Good training can be pretty boring to watch, so here's a video with no voice over, no music, just some good ole boring training.

Happy National Black Dog Day! I might be a *little* biased but black dogs are the best. They are the most overlooked in shelters so they have a hard time getting out! Adopt a black dog, you won't regret it!

Picture is from today when my dogs met fellow black dog, Butcher! We'll work on his posing. And Queen Indy .

Touch is a great cue that you can use for lots of different things! I use it as a redirection, an informal recall, and a temperature check. One of my favorite "reset" or warm up games is "touch, go find it!" where I toss the reward and ask for another touch when they're done eating. This is a great warm up before a walk to get them focusing on you or a reset if your dog reacts to something, gets scared, or even overstimulated! how do you use touch?

day training with Winston! working on neutrality around people, engagement outside, loose leash walking, and recall! He is a good student and enjoys working!

and don't @ me about ticks and the dogs getting dirty. Indy is going to get a hose down when we get home and we're all covered in wonder code and they're on preventative. your dog can get ticks on them in your backyard!! get out with your dogs. swap one neighborhood walk for a woodsy walk this week (use a long lead if you don't have off leash reliability!) and see how it makes you and your dog feel.
