⚾🐾Our Wignall mascot, Paula, and her dog Cloe threw out the first pitch of Sunday's Lowell Spinners game! Some of our staff were also on hand to talk about our hospital programs like Thrive Plus Memberships and Camp Wignall - Boarding and Daycare. It looks like the kids had the best time of all, adopting stuffed dogs, adorning them with beaded collars, and decorating their dog houses. Thanks to all who visited us and made this such a successful Bark in the Park event. 😎

Declan, one of our Camp Wignall - Boarding and Daycare pups, had earned elite status and spends his time between play groups napping in the lap of luxury with the CSR team at the front desk, surrounded by swanky leopard print and soft lighting. 💕 🐾

Ariana visited us for her annual exam on Saturday, and although she had some feelings about restraint for a blood draw (hence the towel), sometimes the butt-scratches are just too good to resist!!

Our team finds ways to adjust for what makes each patient comfortable. Some pets prefer treats as a distraction, some do better with or away from their people, and some animals need pre-exam medications to help with stress and anxiety. It turns out all Ariana needed was good butt-scratches!

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Yaritza Lazarus has joined our team, Wignall Animal Hospital, serving as our newest veterinarian as of March 9th. We welcome her experience in companion animal medicine and surgery and look forward to caring for even more pets in our community (just like yours!) with her support.

Dr. Lazarus earned her dual Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and Master of Public Health (MPH) degrees from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, where she developed a strong foundation in both clinical practice and population health.

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Lazarus finds her greatest joy in spending time with her family. An avid adventurer and self-proclaimed adrenaline ju**ie, she enjoys activities such as hiking, biking, exploring new restaurants, and even skydiving. Fitness is an important part of her lifestyle, and she loves maintaining an active routine. On slower days, she cherishes relaxing evenings watching movies with her husband and experimenting in the kitchen with her best friend—creating new, imaginative meals and sharing their mutual love of great food.
Dr. Lazarus brings her enthusiasm, dedication, and well-rounded perspective into every aspect of her life and career

The hospital will be closed today due to the current weather conditions. If your pet is having a medical emergency, we recommend contacting Bulger Veterinary Hospital and Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital.
We will reopen tomorrow morning at 8am.

The hospital will be closed on Monday, due to the severe weather we are anticipating in this area. As always, staff will continue to care for our Camp Wignall boarding pets through the storm. If your pet needs emergency care during the period of time when we are closed, please reach out to our friends at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital and Bulger Veterinary Hospital.

Our staff were treated to delicious empanadas from Empanada Dada today! We are definitely a food motivated bunch. If you ever get the chance to visit this food truck, we highly recommend it! 😋
