What is your dogs favorite type of toy?
I find it very interesting watching each of my pappies gravitate to their favorite selections.
Fielding LOVES anything ball.
Fern - anything she’s not supposed to have.!!!! She is so clever and loves a reaction from her people so we ( accidentally) created a game we call “ found things” because nothing is ever truly lost once it’s found!!! She seeks out anything we might have dropped , left out or simply put down for a moment. She then casually brings it me .. wagging her tail waiting for me to ask her where she found THAT!
I really do love a smart dog .. as long as she doesn’t outsmart me!

✨BREED HIGHLIGHT✨

🐾The German Shepherd Dog🐾

German Shepherds are strong and loyal canines. In the late 1800s, a German Cavalry officer, Captain Max von Stephanitz made it his mission to create the ‘ideal’ herding dog. Over time a select few German herding breeds were bred to create what we know today as The German Shepherd Dog. Horand von Grafrath was the first registered GSD.

After both WWI and WWII German Shepherds became extremely popular due to their service alongside military. They were employed as watchdogs, messengers and mine detectors. In Switzerland, a Mrs. Harrison Eustis bred GSDs under Fortunate Field Kennels. Her dogs were well known for their training as guide dogs for the blind in New Jersey with Seeing Eye.

These are just a few examples of how intelligent GSDs are. Over the last century they have shown time and time again their devotion to their people. This is a breed that truly loves to work. It is no wonder why they excel at police work, search and rescue, as service companions and so much more. They are often happiest when they feel they have a purpose. Because of these traits they are exceptionally loyal and energetic members of the family. They currently hold 4th place on the American Kennel Club’s Most Popular Breed List.

It is no secret that if you own a German Shepherd, you also need a vacuum just as strong! We see our German Shepherd clients fairly often for a thorough de-shedding! We know that even the biggest and toughest GSD has a soft side for the ones they love so deeply. They hold a special place in our hearts.
