HEALTH & SAFETY UPDATE

We were recently notified that a dog who visited The Friendly Bark has developed symptoms of an upper respiratory infection.

Out of an abundance of caution, The Friendly Bark will be closed today. In addition to our regular cleaning and disinfecting protocols, we are taking this opportunity to complete a thorough deep cleaning of the facility before reopening Tuesday, October 6.

Because dogs share space, toys, water areas, and—most importantly—air, respiratory illnesses can spread anywhere dogs gather. We work hard to maintain a clean environment, but keeping our dog community healthy is a team effort. ❤️

Please keep an eye on your dog for signs of respiratory illness, including:

🐾 Coughing or gagging

🐾 Sneezing

🐾 Nasal or eye discharge

🐾 Lethargy or unusual tiredness

🐾 Decreased appetite

🐾 Fever

🐾 Rapid, difficult, or labored breathing

These are common signs associated with canine respiratory illnesses.

If your dog is showing ANY signs of illness, please keep them home and away from other dogs and contact your veterinarian for guidance. This includes skipping the dog park, daycare, training classes, grooming, boarding, and other places where dogs gather until your veterinarian advises that your dog can safely be around others again.

If your dog develops difficulty breathing, significant weakness, or other severe or rapidly worsening symptoms, please seek veterinary care promptly. Difficulty breathing can be an emergency.

Even mild symptoms matter. Staying home when something seems “just a little off” can help prevent illness from spreading to many other dogs.

Free Teen Dog Play & Learn Intro + Dog Body Language Seminar

Adolescent dogs are still learning how to communicate, take breaks, respect boundaries, and navigate play with other dogs. Our Teen Dog Play & Learn Intro + Body Language Seminar is designed to help both ends of the leash!

Join us September 15 from 6:00–7:15 PM at The Friendly Bark in Lynnwood for an introduction to our new Teen Dog Play & Learn Club.

6:00–6:45 PM:

See how our structured, compatibility-focused teen dog play sessions work.

6:45–7:15 PM:

Learn to better understand dog body language with a presentation + Q&A. All Friendly Bark guests are welcome to attend this portion—even if you don't have a teen dog!

This is a people-only event, so please leave your pup at home! This gives everyone the chance to focus on the presentation, ask questions, and learn without having to manage their dog at the same time.

Because good socialization isn't about your dog playing with every dog they meet. It's about helping them build positive experiences, practice healthy communication, and learn when to play, pause, and disengage.

🐾 Sundays are for SOCIALS at The Friendly Bark! 🐾

Looking for a place where your dog can play with dogs that better match their size and play style? Every Sunday, we dedicate part of our indoor dog park to our Large Dog Social and Small Dog Social — while regular group play continues on the other side of the building!

🐕 LARGE DOG SOCIAL | 12–3 PM
Dedicated play space for our bigger pups! Dogs should be size and play-style appropriate for a group of dogs 45 lbs+. It’s not just about the number on the scale — we want dogs who are comfortable and compatible playing with the big-dog crew.

🐶 SMALL DOG SOCIAL | 3–6 PM
Dedicated play space for dogs 20 lbs and under, giving our littlest visitors a chance to socialize, play, and explore with more appropriately sized friends.

Meanwhile, regular group play stays open!
During both socials, the other side of The Friendly Bark remains available for our regular mixed group play, so you can still visit even if your dog doesn’t fit that social’s size group.

No special event ticket needed — just come play during your group’s time! Regular park admission and membership access apply.
