With her little ears and big smile, Kaia will make you fall in love with her. She's a sweet, affectionate, and loyal dog who deserves to be someone's best friend or cherished family member. She loves meeting new people, going on walks, taking naps, and tapping her front paws in place to let you know when she's excited. Kaia is in paradise running around the backyard or lying on the floor, getting her belly rubbed. She's a people-pleaser with a lot of personality, the rare dog who is docile, funny, and mischievous at the same time. You might see her tail wagging as she ventures around a corner to check on another dog's bowl or watch her trot off with a tennis ball after one throw into a game of catch. Her presence is always felt, even when she curls up in her dog bed after a walk or a meal.
Her story is unique. She was born in Crete, Greece, and came to the U.S. when a volunteer at her shelter brought her home as a foster. She quickly adapted to domestic life, riding in cars, sleeping indoors, and walking on a leash (or anywhere outside her kennel) for the first time just before she turned 3. Domestic life brought out her gentle, trusting nature and her most prominent quality – her love for humans. She'll look up at you with her shining, deep brown eyes and tap her paws until you reach out, then melt to the floor so you can pet her back. Seconds later, she'll flip over so you can pet her stomach too, holding your gaze the whole time. If you're looking for a special bond with your dog, you'll love Kaia.
