Over the last 6 weeks of the school year, some of our staff and volunteers visited Woodman Park School to participate in the SOCC after school program! The students got to learn all about PMHS-CV and visit with some of the animals.🐰🐱🐶🐦

Looking for a feathered friend? We have two special parrots searching for experienced homes where they can thrive!

💚Pretty Bird is a handsome Senegal Parrot estimated to be around 30 years old. Don't let his age fool you—he's playful, curious, interactive, and loves being involved in whatever his people are doing. Pretty Bird doesn't show a preference for men or women, but like many parrots, he tends to choose a favorite person in the household. He has successfully lived with other birds and appears to enjoy having feathered companions nearby.

🧡Joey is a young Jenday Conure with a bright future ahead of him. Joey didn't have the best start in life and was not consistently handled, which left him fearful of hands. Since entering foster care, he has made some progress and continues to blossom with patience and understanding. Joey will need an adopter who is willing to let him move at his own pace and give him plenty of time to settle into a new environment. This may look like simply coexisting for some period of time, but building trust with Joey will be incredibly rewarding for the right person.

Because parrots have specialized physical, behavioral, and medical needs, adopters must have prior bird ownership experience and preferably have an established relationship with an avian veterinarian to be considered for adoption.

🐾✨ FOSTER FRIDAY HIGHLIGHT ✨🐾

From 14 years old to 14 years young — talk about a foster transformation! 💕

Mariah came to the shelter after the heartbreaking loss of her beloved owner. The transition was difficult for her, and she seemed depressed while also struggling with ongoing medical issues.

Everything changed when Mariah found an amazing foster home. 🏡 Not only did her medical issues begin to improve, but her personality started shining through again! Now she gets the zoomies and proudly wags her adorable little nub tail. 🐕💨
