I kept waiting for everything to fall into place before I let myself be happy.

Every time something felt out of my control, I'd try to get control back somewhere else. I kept waiting for everything to settle before I could feel content. But there's always going to be something that doesn't go the way I planned.

I think I've also been tying my worth to how productive I am and what I have to show for myself. Honestly, I want to be a stay-at-home mom. This is the life I want, but I still catch myself feeling guilty because it doesn't bring in an income.

I'm learning that I don't have to have everything figured out to enjoy the life I'm living. I can trust God with what I can't control and be present for what He's already given me. šŸ’›

My idea of a good time has definitely changed over the years.

Now some of my favorite moments are the simplest ones, like singing and being silly with the babies in our living room. Wouldn't trade it. šŸ’›

Sometimes you don't realize you're growing because you're too busy trying to survive.

That's what this little sprout made me think about.

It wasn't standing tall. It wasn't getting much sunlight. It was literally growing sideways under all that weight. And honestly, I can relate. šŸ˜‚

There were parts of early twin motherhood where I felt like I was barely keeping my head above water. But looking back now, I can see that I was still growing through all of it.

Maybe you are too. šŸ’›

I’ve caught myself doing this more than I’d like to admit.

Something inconvenient happens and suddenly I'm thinking, why does everything have to be so hard?

And yes, having twins is hard. There are days I'm exhausted and overwhelmed and just want things to be easier.

But I also have two babies I prayed for. I have so many things I once wanted that are now just normal parts of my everyday life.

I don't want to forget that just because I'm having a frustrating day.

Although apparently I needed to be reminded of that while carrying two babies across a Target parking lot. šŸ˜‚

Twin moms — do you ever catch yourself doing this too?

There was a time when I genuinely couldn’t picture this.

I couldn’t picture them playing together.
I couldn’t picture getting a full thought out while they were both awake.
I couldn’t picture the days feeling less like survival and more like… life.

And now I’ll be standing in the kitchen doing absolutely nothing glamorous, and I’ll hear these two laughing together in the other room.

And it hits me:

We made it here.

If you’re in the newborn trenches with twins right now, I know you probably can’t see the other side yet.

You don’t have to.

Just keep going. One exhausting, beautiful, chaotic day at a time. šŸ’›

And if you’re a twin mom somewhere in the trenches—or on the other side—come hang out with me. We’re figuring this whole thing out together. 🫶

They absolutely demolished that cheeseburger....

After hitting a year, we are doing a ton more "real food" instead of formula but the didn't drink that much today and had a weak lunch so I gave them bottles when we got home and they both drank a tall and a small bottle (that's about 10 oz of formula for those of us who aren't used to making 2 talls and 2 smalls 4 times a day).

And this was AFTER the cheeseburger they devoured at the game.....

Also, it was the hair wafting in the breeze for me šŸ˜šŸ˜ oh and of course Joe's reaction.
