Have you ever seen a honeybee swarm? 🐝

As scary as it might be to see thousands of bees outside the hive, they are normally very docile and can be safely relocated by a beekeeper. We have turned on our push notifications, so please send us a message on Facebook or Instagram you see a swarm - we can help them get to a new home or reach out to other beekeepers if we aren’t available. (Or email [email protected])

When there is lots of food available and the colony grows too large, half of the bees and the queen will leave in a swarm to start a new colony. The swarm will usually stop at a temporary location after leaving the hive in order to send out scout bees to find their new home.

They really don’t want any trouble, moving to a new home isn’t always an easy process, so make sure you call a beekeeper to help them out!

We extracted honey this week and have been bottling like crazy! Here is where you can find our honey this season:

CSA members are able to order online this week for delivery in their CSAs next week - check your email for details!

in Berwick stocks the best local meat and other local goods including flowers, professionally prepared meals, and delicious desserts

in Berwick raises bison and Mangalista pigs, and stock their farm store with hyper-local products

And at our honeystand on Western Ave in Rochester!

✨Life Update✨

We have been a little quiet on social media the last few months as we prepared for and welcomed our daughter 🤍

With regular full-time jobs, tending the bees, pregnancy, and spending time with our families, we have been very busy - but we are working on catching up on messages and emails! And really looking forward to lots of beekeeping updates this spring! 🐝

We’re loving parenthood so far and so so happy that Audra Lynn Photography captured these absolutely gorgeous photos of such a special moment in our lives! ✨

We had the BEST time celebrating our baby shower last weekend at the amazing Wild Bevy Distilling featuring the most bee-utiful charcuterie spread by 🌼

Our honey had to make an appearance of course, so Jamie made sure to feature both our honeycomb and honey throughout the spread! 😍

Well the cats outta the bag… or in this case the bump is outta the bee suit 💁🏼‍♀️

We’re very excited to welcome a new little beekeeper to our family in January! 🐝

It’s been a busy season working with 18 hives, balancing a full-time job, and growing a little human, so I’ve been a little less active on social media - but I’m very happy to report that our summer has been filled with lots of happy bees and a ton of delicious sweet honey! 🍯

We will also be at Orange Circle Farm for the Envision Berwick Open Farm Day on July 24th! Make sure to stop by to meet the bees, pick-up some honey and enjoy live music on the farm! 🐝

Friendly community reminder that there is NO reason to spray honeybee swarms, please contact a beekeeper and we can safely move them to a hive.

I received a helpful call from a tenant today about a swarm, but unfortunately the landlord had already sprayed them with poison. With the queen and thousands of bees dead, it turned what could have been an easy rescue into a lost cause.
