Finally!!!!! Buc-ee passed ATSAR's Level 3 HRD test, received his GEMA SAR K9 license and became an certified licensed HRD K9 on May 15. Two weeks later Team Buc-ee participated in his first official search with ATSAR. It is a great feeling of accomplishment to be back in the field with a dog again! SAR is something that I had wanted to do all of my adult life but never felt that I had the time to dedicate to it until my children were grown and out of the home. The training involved and the time required for SAR is huge and it can be emotionally demanding. But I am grateful to be able to serve my community in this way with my dogs!

Happy 5th Birthday to the 2021 Hurricane litter! These pups celebrate their birthday every year here at the farm, mostly at the pool! It has been a joy to watch this litter grow and to enjoy the relationship with the owners who have all become good friends! I wish there were more litters that could have an annual reunion like this. It is great fun for the dogs and the humans! Thanks to Marion, Christina, Jennifer and Linda for making it happen!

This week I received an email from a member of our Loveline family with and update on his 10 year old Golden, Deacon, from the SARdog litter. Deacon has been diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma, an operable liver cancer.

We had to say goodbye to our Davidic Dance puppies and few weeks ago, but the pups got to say hello to some great families. I have already gotten great reports back from their families on their good health and good progress in training! I am grateful to these 8 new Loveline families for taking responsible puppy ownership seriously. I look forward to hearing about each of these pups as they grow and learn over the next 15 years!!!! May they all have long and happy lives!

One of the greatest privileges that I have experienced in running a kennel (other than spending all of my time with dogs!) has been getting to know the young people who put their passion for animals to a practical use by working for me as kennel assistants. In the 29 years of breeding Golden Retrievers I have been honored to work alongside of 15 young men and women who have given a few fun months or years of their lives to help me care for my dogs. I have enjoyed staying in contact with them and hearing of their life pursuits after they leave Loveline....PHD's, veterinarians, vet techs, moms, dental hygienists, newlyweds, soccer players....I always pray that I have had a positive influence on their lives in some way. I pray that they might have seen a little of the light of Christ in the daily activities of animal husbandry that we did together. This summer we are losing one of our current kennel assistants who has been with us for almost a year, Kaitlyn Grimmer. Kaitlyn is graduating from Alexander High School this month and will be headed off to college in the fall to attend Georgia Southern. I will miss Kaitlyn's quiet dedication to my dogs and to her tasks. I can always tell the days that Kaitlyn has worked because everything is clean and in its place...even my most frustrating dogs! We wish Kaitlyn well in this next stage of her life pursuits!
But this means we are looking for more help in our kennels this summer and fall! If you know anyone who loves dogs and would like to do some part time work please send them our way!!! Loveline is now hiring!

Banks AKA Bumper from our Daytona 500 litter will finish his first week of Cold Nose College tomorrow. Banks is a very attentive student and has already been successfully introduced to 7 new behaviors as well as 7 new cows!! He is doing great with his behavior training but he is a little unsure about the cows! They are so big! This week Banks has had 2 of his sister's from the Davidic Dance litter to play with when he is not in class. They are enjoying the walks on the farm with Banks. It is such fun to watch the pups see and learn so many new things. They are like little bundles of energy that cannot get enough activity! Zoe has been a good big sister and has been demonstrating some of the behaviors for Banks. He loves to imitate her! Banks will be with us 5 more weeks. Stay tuned for his fast paced progress.

While Buc-ee has been very active in producing some adorable puppies, ( both of our current litters were sired by Buc-ee) he hasn't just been lying around enjoying the accolades for being so handsome and entertaining! Buc-ee has been busy working his way through the training and testing process to become a certified licensed Human Remains Detection Dog for Georgia Body Recovery Team and Alpha Team K9 Search and Rescue. Last weekend Buc-ee became nationally certified through the NAPWDA ( North American Police Working Dog Association) Cadaver Dog testing certification. This was a 2 day testing process involving wilderness, building, vehicle, rubble, buried and water searches. This past weekend Buc-ee past the 2nd of 3 level tests to become an operational HRD dog for ATSAR. He has to pass 1 more level test and get his GEMA license and then he will be fully qualified to go in the field on "real" searches! It has been 5 years since my last 2 operational HRD dogs passed away. This is a long awaited accomplishment for me! I think I can now see the light at the end of this very long and dark tunnel! Praise the LORD!!!!!

What a fun time we had getting photos of our Davidic Dance puppies and our Daytona 500 pups. They loved their outfits and were ready to party! The pups are 1 week from meeting their new families. We have a lot planned for their last week here...places to go and people to meet!

The 6 week vet visit was a fun event for all 10 puppies as well as for the veterinarian office staff! The pups were playful and happy when they arrived and exhausted when it was time to go! All pups got great health reports and are now in the last 3 weeks before joining their human families! We still have lots of training to do before then!

The Datona 500 pups and the Dance puos got lots of socialization this past week with people and dogs! My search team visited with the pups after training and my teenagers, Rey and Zoe, had their first long awaited play date with the pups. Zoe whines to play with them everyday. This week the pups will have their 6 week vet visit! Photos to follow!
