This weekend we said goodbye to one of the best dogs we’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. Saffron was very special to the Cohn family and left a unique mark on the hearts of friends and loved ones. She was the natural leader of her pack and her presence will surely be missed.

Saffron was the hall monitor for her five dog siblings, always making sure everyone played by the rules. She excelled as a watchdog and was the first to offer comfort when someone was feeling down. Saffron was also a super hero because she was a regular blood donor. Her donations saved many lives and her kisses dried many tears. She had that special spark and an infinite supply of love to give away. She was a beautiful soul and we were lucky to know her.

Check out this unique patient. 🐢 A Good Samaritan noticed this turtle’s shell was damaged and brought it to us for care. We are keeping the turtle warm, have placed an antibiotic cream on the fracture, and are administering pain medications until we can transfer it to the Chattahoochee Nature Center where it can be cared for properly.

It’s important to know that only licensed rehabbers can legally rehabilitate wildlife. Should you find an injured wild animal please exercise caution and call your local wildlife rehab. Not only can wild animals be dangerous, but they also have the ability to spread dangerous diseases. While it may be tempting to care for an injured wild animal, it’s best left to the professionals.
