🖤🐾 In Loving Memory of Hargrove 🐾🖤
Some cats spend a lifetime searching for a family.
Hargrove found his at the very end.
When Hargrove came to us from the shelter, it was obvious that he had once known the love of people. He adored attention, loved being brushed, and never turned down the chance to spend time with his humans. While he preferred not to share his space with other cats, he was perfectly content being the beloved king of the Kitten Lounge, where he received endless affection from the fosters who adored him.
Hargrove was believed to be a senior kitty and had been battling hyperthyroidism for quite some time. Despite medication and loving care, he recently began to decline. Further evaluation revealed a mass in his intestines, and it became clear that his body was tired and that he was suffering.
As heartbreaking as it was, the decision was made to give Hargrove one final gift: peace.
But before that happened, something beautiful took place.
This past weekend, the two fosters who had loved and cared for Hargrove made him officially theirs. They adopted him so that he would leave this world knowing he belonged to a family.
Not every rescue story ends the way we hope. We wish Hargrove had been given more time. We wish he had enjoyed years in a home of his own. But we are incredibly grateful that his final chapter was filled with love, comfort, and people who chose him completely.
Yesterday, Hargrove crossed the Rainbow Bridge with his family by his side. He was not alone. He was not forgotten. He was loved until his very last breath.
Thank you, Hargrove, for the hugs, the purrs, the brushing sessions, and the privilege of loving you.
You may have spent years searching for your family, but in the end, they found you.
Run free, sweet boy. 🌈🐾❤️
