Celebrating Client Wins!

Meet Max!

Max’s mom called me when he was beginning to get aggressive with her partner. Overall Max had some fear issues. Not well socialized with people(lives in country), fearful at the vet, fearful of airplanes, the mule buggy, and few other things.

So he has a few wins to report!

First off he is no longer aggressive with her partner after the first visit! Thank you Vlad for listening and making all the right changes for this to happen. You guys are amazing!!

He recently had a vet visit where he didn’t growl and took treats from staff!

But the biggest win is finally wagged his nubbie at me today when I walked up!! And a few times in the session!!
I have spent 5 visits gaining his trust and still can’t interact with him too closely yet… about 4 feet tops.

Today tho he took a treat, but wasn’t completely comfortable with it so we reset him. I then tossed more treats at his safe distance. Several times he wanted to come up to me, got conflicted and walked himself away. Showing huge impulse control and good decision making!! He is learning how to control his emotions and that is FANTASTIC!!

So proud of him and his parents for all the work they are doing with him! He’s come a long way in a short time!

Celebrating client wins!!

Meet Rocky…
Rebel and Aurea are not pictured but defiantly included!

When “Sits” turn into HUGE wins!

I was called in for a resource guarding case where there was a dog injured severely, that required stitches and a drain. One dog went after another, but all the dogs are resource guarding in one way or another. And there are some extreme ways, like guarding just one person in the home and going after windshield wipers if the even look like they will be turned on. If the sky is grey they will watch to see if wiper blades get turned on!!

But what is also happening in this case is a lack of proper guidance and leadership in a way the dogs can understand.
There was communication break down,….pet parents who were doing the best they knew how to at the time.
It unfortunately led into a lot of issues in the home… the dogs bullying each other, lack of trust from the pet parents,, dog fights, etc.

These pups didn’t know any basic cues, and for the most part if they didn’t want to do something they just wouldn’t, no matter what was tried. They were emotionally shut down. The pet parents wanted to help them but just didn’t know how. They are sweet dogs, that are well cared for,and loved very much. Maybe a little TOO much lol

So we are now fixing relationships. Building trust, building a partnership between pet and pet parent!

This picture below is the first step you see…
A pup happy to work with his mom and for the first time they are both enjoying it!!!
HUGE WIN!!! Oh the joy of watching this in person… there are no words! Best part of my job! 🤩🥰👏👏👏👏👏

Every day is National dog when you’re a trainer!!

So here are more “Celebrating Client wins”

Meet Ellie May!

I got called when her enthusiasm for guests was well…. A little much!!

She thought guests were there for just her, and could not settle down the whole time they were visiting. Pacing, whining, wanting to go outside so they would toss the ball etc.

Sometimes a friendly dog can take it to another level! So we had to show her and her mom how to balance things out. She can still play with guests but in a more structured manner and not every time they visit!

Here is Ellie she demonstrating she CAN settle when some of her favorite people show up! This isn’t perfect yet, but in just a few weeks with a super dedicated momma, she was able to finally relax when visitors are over!

Yay Ellie May and momma!!

Stay tuned:
We still have some things to work on with her and men at the vets office. So stayed tuned for those wins as they unfold!

Celebrating Client Wins!

Meet Mikey, again…

This guy was found as a stray and has stranger danger. His mom has started doing vet visits to prepare him for vetting since his first experience with a vet was not a good one!

New vet, the first experience wasn’t great either, not due to the vet, but just the first meeting. And his mom was understandably nervous after the first bad vet experience.

Today he went in when the place was calm, did a tour inside, saw a dog in a cage from 5 ft away, then met with the vet outside the clinic all without a “meltdown”!

She was able to walk up to him, pet him, ask him to sit, and gave him a treat!!

This is a HUGE win!!!

He goes back in 2 weeks for another practice session!

The vet is not rushing his care plan because she knows how important it is to build trust with him, which we are so thankful for!!

Great job everyone 👏!!!

Thankful for the vets who still care and know when to not push for the sake of healthcare. Mental healthcare is just as important!!!

Celebrating Client Wins!

Meet Debo!

After switching homes he became a little protective of his new family’s home from strangers.

We have been working on his stranger danger and some of his other fears… like the water hose and when momma leaves the room but he’s not alone. He loves his momma that for sure!

He’s still a work in progress but has come a long way in a short amount of time!!

Thank you to his family for their work and dedication!

Celebrating Client Wins!

Update on Caesar from his mom…

Just thought you would appreciate the client win here as Caesar settled into his crate with a new cooling pad without destroying it, only a minor tantrum because it was new, and enjoyed treats for lying down on it without protest. I even mopped while he lay still, waiting on command, minimal spinning and barking. Never told him no- just said “good choices” and he would settle for his command. You may not come every week but you changed our lives tremendously!

Love getting updates like this! The work continues even after our training together “stops”.
If I haven’t heard from you in a while please feel free to share your wins with your pup!!
Love hearing updates!!

Celebrating Client Wins!!

Riley is rocking his vet practice visits.

He is a reactive dog with tons of things that scare him including at the vets and visits.

His mom and dad are helping him get used to visits, with lots of little practice visits during quiet times at the vets office. Making the experience fun with lots of positive reinforcement and space from the things that scare him.

Normally he would announce himself loudly from parking lot to office, not today. He proudly kept it together.

He only had 2 reactions in total today which is a HUGE improvement!!

He also got a chance to practice his muzzle wearing skills. For those who don’t know, muzzle wearing is to be trained too, to make it as fun and less stressful for the pup as possible!

Way to go team!!
