🚨 URGENT SUPPORT STILL NEEDED🚨
The recent hoarding case has stretched our rescues beyond its limits.
While the dogs are finally safe, their recovery is only beginning. Many arrived needing immediate veterinary attention, and the medical care, medications, diagnostics, and ongoing treatment costs are adding up quickly. We are committed to giving these dogs the care they deserve, but we cannot do it alone.
At the same time, our rescue was already full before these dogs came into our care. Every kennel, foster home, and available resource is being utilized, and we desperately need help to continue saying “yes” to animals in need.
🐾 HOW YOU CAN HELP 🐾
❤️ DONATE
Every dollar goes directly toward veterinary care, medications, food, supplies, and helping these dogs recover from the neglect they endured.
❤️ FOSTER
Opening your home saves lives. The more foster homes we have, the more dogs we can move to safety and prepare for adoption.
❤️ SHARE
Even if you cannot donate or foster, sharing our posts helps us reach people who can.
This situation has been heartbreaking, exhausting, and overwhelming, but seeing these dogs finally receive the care and compassion they deserve reminds us why we do this.
Please be patient with our small volunteer team as we work through the many medical needs, applications, messages, and updates. We are doing everything we can for these animals and appreciate every person standing beside us during this time.
Together, we can help them heal.

Updated: Two Arrested After 31 Dogs Found in Poor Conditions in Level Plains
Level Plains, Ala. — Two Dale County residents are facing dozens of animal cruelty charges after police said multiple dogs were found living in poor conditions at a Level Plains home.
According to the Level Plains Police Department, officers responded Monday morning to a report of possible animal abuse at a home on Phyllis Avenue.
"A person went to pick up a cat from the home and reported the condition of the environment", Chief Summers said.
When officers arrived, they reportedly found several dogs living in unsanitary and concerning conditions. Police said the preliminary investigation raised serious concerns about the animals’ health, welfare and overall care.
According to Chief Summers of Level Plains, animal f***s were everywhere, dead dogs and cats were found wrapped and put into a freezer and refrigerator. The animals that were alive had their ribs showing.
The two suspects involved operated a "self proclaimed shelter" . Chief Summers said they were not affiliated to other shelters that he was aware of.
Glenn Egan, 25, and Kristen Slater, 22, were arrested following the investigation.
Police said both are charged with 31 counts each of aggravated animal cruelty or neglect. The charges stem from evidence collected at the scene and observations made by investigators.
"It was unbelievable", Summers said. "This hit home, I am a big dog person. Its the most personally affecting scene involving animals ive seen".
Officials have not released additional details about the condition of each dog.
Four buried animals have been retrieved and sent to Auburn for an autopsy. Depending on the results more charges could come.
Several Wiregrass animal rescue organizations assisted law enforcement by helping remove and care for the dogs and cats.
