The City of Donna Animal Shelter & Animal Control will be closed on Friday, July 3rd, in observance of Independence Day.

Our staff will resume normal business hours on Monday, July 6th.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we celebrate with our families and community.

🐾 Holiday Pet Safety Reminder:

* Keep pets indoors during fireworks.
* Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with current ID tags.
* Keep doors and gates secure, as loud noises can cause pets to run away.

🐾🇺🇸 4th of July Pet Safety Reminder 🇺🇸🐾

Fireworks may be fun for us, but they can be frightening and dangerous for our pets. Help keep your furry family members safe this Independence Day with these important tips:

🏠 Keep pets indoors in a quiet, secure room during fireworks.
🔊 Close windows and curtains, and play calming music or the TV to help reduce loud noises.
🏷️ Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with current ID tags.
💉 Microchip your pet for the best chance of a safe reunion if they become lost.
💧 Keep plenty of fresh, cool water available.
🎆 Never light fireworks around pets—even “safe” fireworks can cause fear, stress, or injury.

🐶 We offer pet microchips for just $20!
A microchip is a simple, permanent form of identification that greatly increases the chances of being reunited with your pet if they ever get lost.
