We've covered what's expected of you on CPE exam day, but what actually happens if a conduct rule gets broken? The consequences aren't minor. Per the ECFVG MOA, violations can result in score invalidation, denial of certification, or a permanent notation on your ECFVG record. Not a warning. Not a redo. A mark that can follow your candidacy going forward. This is exactly why 'I didn't realize that wasn't allowed' isn't a great position to be in on exam day. Know the rules cold, well before you walk in.

Something a lot of candidates don't realize going in: ECFVG reserves the right to record CPE examinations, and video/audio recordings may be used for quality assurance and test security. Worth remembering if you're the type to get in your head about being watched: everyone sitting the CPE is under the same policy.

Fail a section (or a few) on the CPE? Here's how retakes work: fail 4 or more sections, and you retake the entire exam. Fail 1-3 sections, and you get two additional attempts at just those sections -- but only if you apply within 6 months and accept the first available retake offered. That window moves fast, which is exactly why a focused review plan matters the moment you get your scores back.
