One week down with Captain, first day with a bit in his mouth and first day with me getting in the saddle. Yes, he still needs more time with the bit to figure it out, but i had no concerns about getting on him, even with Max (our Rottie) not wanting to stay out of the way. Captain did great. Mac went on his first trail ride yesterday and today. 2 hours each day, and he did wonderful, here are some clips from yesterdays ride, bridge, water, other horses, and loping outside too.

Took Mac out of the barn for the first time this evening. Definitely a lot to distract his young mind, but as long as he pays attention to me when I ask for anything, that’s what matters.

So Mac got a little light in his feet the other night, nothing serious and he came out of it. One realizing he is definitely a laid back personality, and is still not sure how to lope with weight on him. He has been doing great with lunging, and just needs more confidence with my weight. Day 2 with Mac. A young draft horse I’m proud to be training for a friend.

I know this video is long, but too many times in our industry, trainers don’t want to communicate with owners, don’t want to provide updates, and seemingly just act too good for the owners. Well you weren’t too good for their money were you? Here is a full unedited video of what happened in today’s session. And I’m sure no one will watch it all. And that’s fine, but I’m transparent in what I do. Thank you Nate Tessmer for trusting me with your sweet horse’s progression into a riding horse.
