Opossum Passion and Rescue

a big thank you to the couple who rescued these from a mother opossum and contacted me yesterday to rehab them so they would not die. two of them did not make it through the night till now but three are alive and doing great. they are about 7 weeks old and considering they start out the size of a jelly bean you can imagine how small they still are at 7 weeks.

it breaks my heart to say this but Paulie passed away this morning. I noticed yesterday that he wasn't doing well and upon checking on him this am before work he was wasn't getting any better. I came home around 10 am to be met by Steve outside to break the news to me. he was a good and gentle boy that will be missed!

UPDATE! After a month of being gone Foster came home tonight! He's lost quite a bit of weight, is tired, and very humble. I am so happy and relieved right now it's not funny. I never gave up hope and I knew he was going to be safe cuz he's a tough little s**t but not knowing is torture.

It's been a great experience and a lot of fun, though I knew the day would eventually come I wasn't ready for it. If I knew when I let Foster out that it was the last time I was going to see him I would would have hugged him a lot longer. He's one tough cookie and I know he was ready to be on his own. It's been almost a month since he's been here and I still find myself calling for him every evening. I am heartbroken and believe he will stop back to visit one day. Until then, may God watch over him.

Chompers returned again with 3/4 of his tail missing. He stayed inside for 3 days and was ready to go again.

Update on Krupa the 3 legged opposum! He came home to check in and went on his way again. I was soooo excited to see him and know he is doing good.
