Rascal went to the vet this week and we officially found out that he is blind. He did receive a rabies shot and when he gets older will receive a distemper shot. He's a trooper and does not let the blindness slow him down.

Everyone meet Rascal. Rascal came to me on June 3rd (the first picture). I didn't want to post anything right away because last year distemper seemed rather harsh on the raccoons. Rascal has came a long way from day one, unfortunately, I think he's going to be about 90% blind unless his new medication kicks in and works.

a big thank you to the couple who rescued these from a mother opossum and contacted me yesterday to rehab them so they would not die. two of them did not make it through the night till now but three are alive and doing great. they are about 7 weeks old and considering they start out the size of a jelly bean you can imagine how small they still are at 7 weeks.

A new first for me.
