🐾🤎 Dakota — The Gentle Soul Who Just Wants to Belong 🤎🐾
Seen roaming his neighborhood for several days, Dakota’s finder set out food and water, hoping to lure him close enough to check for a collar or ID. In the end, it was their two friendly dogs who sealed the deal — Dakota trotted right over for playtime and instant friendship! When none of the neighbors recognized him, his finders brought him to us so we could help locate his family.
With no microchip, no ID, and no one coming to claim him during his stray hold, Dakota is now officially ready for adoption. 🏡💕
While completing paperwork at our shelter, this sweet boy calmly sat in the lobby with their young son, letting him love on him — almost as if Dakota was quietly comforting him as he tearfully said goodbye to his canine buddy. 💛
Since arriving, Dakota has been easy to leash and walk in and out of his kennel. He met a similarly sized spayed female and was wonderfully tolerant — strolling, sniffing the grass, and letting her check him out with zero issues. Because he arrived as a stray, we don’t have information on how he does with cats, and we always recommend meet‑and‑greets with resident dogs and children to ensure a perfect family match. 🐾
