These two photos tell a story we wish Lilly never had to live. 💔

The first photo is from 2024, after Lilly had already spent over TWO YEARS growing up in our shelter. The second is Lilly today — back at the shelter and waiting all over again.

Lilly came to us at only 16 weeks old in 2022. After more than two years of waiting, she was finally adopted. We truly thought she had found forever.

Unfortunately, Lilly was returned.

Since coming back, we’ve spent time getting to know her again, including time in a foster home. With patience, slow introductions and proper handling, we’ve seen the sweet Lilly we always knew was still there. ❤️

She doesn’t need someone expecting perfection. She needs someone willing to give her patience, stability and a real chance.

🐾 AUGUST IS CLEAR THE SHELTERS MONTH! 🐾

Every empty kennel should have a happy ending — a dog going HOME. 🏡❤️

Unfortunately, many dogs enter shelters as strays and are never reclaimed. Some aren’t microchipped, some come from accidental litters, and some simply wait and wait for someone to choose them.

We can all help change that.

🐶 Adopt when you’re ready to make a lifelong commitment.
✂️ Spay & neuter to prevent unwanted litters and help reduce the number of homeless animals entering shelters.
📍 Microchip your pets and keep your contact information updated so they have a better chance of making it home if they’re lost.
🏠 Reclaim your pets. If your dog goes missing, contact your local shelter and keep checking.
❤️ Be a responsible pet owner. They depend on us their entire lives.

Clearing the shelters isn’t just about finding homes for the dogs already here — it’s also about preventing more dogs from needing a shelter in the first place.

They deserve homes, not kennels. 🐾

Look at all those names! 🥹🏡 July was an amazing month for our shelter dogs, and we couldn’t be happier to see 24 dogs start their new chapters with loving families! ❤️🐾
