Soul Dog: Animal Behavior and Science Journey with my pack, psychiatric service dog Kai, and Soul Dog: Animal Science and Behavior dog training.

We are not perfect and I’m not perfect at teaching this but she FINALLY started moving her back feet on turns. Before she stuck out perpendicular from me which wasn’t great with how big she is. But look at her go!!

Mary is learning the same skills as Kai in alerting to my mental health states. Here she is learning the scents of, wanting to harm myself (paw), anxiety (right hand boop) and depression (lick left hand).

Kai alerting to stability saved me that day, realizing I can finally feel the full spectrum of emotion but not in extremes.

Service dog alerting me before psychiatric shift! Explanation in second part of video.

Here Kai is learning that the presentation of food on the table means to lay down. Eventually this will be for restaurants as well. This took her about four trials to decide on her own to lay down. In this video you see that I give her the choice to decide what to do and she eventually makes the choice to lay down.

Kai correcting a sample and then learning the down for mania! She captured my hypomanic state this morning and you can see her go down immediately with the new sample. She's awesome. Will save my life alerting me to all of my mood states.

This dog has been trained to save my life. And by scent training. Since she’s been fully trained on the scents (moods and other psych) and become more accurate and just overall finished her training, she has saved my life more than once. Literally. She’s incredible and part of the reason life is good now.
And I don’t have to be as afraid of what comes next. She will let me know. And she has interrupted harmful behavior, alerts me to mood states, leads or gets meds, deep pressure therapy and more.
In this video she checks me as NORMAL too! It’s been a hot minute since that.
Can a dog save a life? Yes. Yes she can.

Stay with me forever ❤️

Training some pups and reinforcing for doing nothing! That is so important when training to have the dogs be able to not react to everything in the environment. Doing nothing is amazing.

Raw and vulnerable. Woman. Me. With hallucinations and service dog helps. She warned me it was coming.

Meds didn't work fast enough. This was a visual hallucination of a demon I have seen for 29 years so I'm not as crazy with it now. Just want it to go. Kai supports in multiple ways.
