📣WNV Alert for horse owners📣

We have had a positive West Nile Virus horse in Parmer County and Lamb County. West Nile Virus is spread by mosquitos so any of the surrounding area should be on alert. Watch for any neurologic signs in your horses and update vaccines as soon as possible. Please call to get vaccines or set up an appointment as soon as possible thank you!

Any human threat will be announced by the State Health Department but here are tips for mosquito control from the CDC:
- remove all standing water possible and change out animal water at least every 2 days
- wear mosquito repellent spray approved by EPA
- Avoid outdoor activity at dusk and dawn
- wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants
