Vet Tech Week Day 3!!

Our team came in today with another wonderful surprise in store for them! 🫶❤️

We would like to thank MWI for the delicious breakfast tacos and Zoetis for these wonderful goodie bags along with providing an amazing lunch from Garcia's on 35!

We are very grateful for everyone involved in helping our team feel appreciated for the hard work and dedication they bring when stepping inside our clinic every day.

Vet Tech Week goodies!!! Over the weekend the front staff came in and we decorated the office and put up all the wonderful comment you all have been sending filling our walls with love to the Techs for all to see! We are still accepting comments to add. They also got a few small goodies yesterday but they were so busy serving our community we were unable to get a picture. Today they received day 2 of treats! Cups, candy and stickers! And we got a picture (minus two Techs). We are so proud of our Techs, Tech assistant and Techs in training and this week is all about spoiling them with surprises!

A Little Late… But We’re SO Excited to Share Some SWVS Adventures With You! 🎓🐾
We may be a little late getting these pictures posted, but we couldn't let our trip to the Southwest Veterinary Symposium (SWVS) in San Antonio go by without sharing a few of our favorite moments! ❤️
Continuing education is a cornerstone of what we believe in here at Dilley Veterinary Clinic. Veterinary medicine is constantly changing, and we believe that learning shouldn't stop when you leave school. Our team works hard every day to provide the best care we can for our patients, and conferences like SWVS give us the opportunity to keep learning, growing, networking and bringing new knowledge back home to our patients and our community.
And yes… Pixie came with us! 🩷🦎
Our little Dilley Vet axolotl had quite the adventure! She got to explore SWVS, meet some wonderful people, and even tag along with our keynote speaker, Walter Brown! 😍
Walter was an especially memorable part of the conference. As a veterinary technologist specializing in Emergency & Critical Care, Walter has found a unique way to combine veterinary medicine, education, and humor to reach veterinary professionals and make learning engaging. He has built a huge following through his educational content, creates learning opportunities for veterinary students, pet parents, and kids, and has a goal of helping expand veterinary assistant education into underserved communities. His message about learning, staying curious, being yourself, and remembering why we chose veterinary medicine in the first place was something our team truly appreciated.
And apparently Pixie appreciated it too. 😉🩷
One of the best parts of conferences like SWVS isn't just the classes. It's getting to see the amazing people who help make veterinary medicine happen behind the scenes — our industry representatives, educators, specialists, and the companies and individuals who help keep clinics like ours equipped to care for your animals.
We also loved getting to reconnect with colleagues from other veterinary practices and meet new people who share the same passion for helping animals and the people who love them.
And, of course, the speakers! There is something pretty special about sitting in a room with people who have dedicated their careers to learning more, teaching others, and pushing veterinary medicine forward. 🩺📚
We came home with new knowledge, new ideas, new connections, and plenty of inspiration to bring back to Dilley Veterinary Clinic.
And Pixie came home with a LOT of stories. 😂🩷
Speaking of Pixie…
You may be seeing a little more of her around here!
She had so much fun coming with us to SWVS that she said she wants to travel a bit more. She's been disappearing from her tank a bit more since we got back and heading out into the world. We cant wait to see where her adventures take her. 🌎🐾
From Dilley to San Antonio and wherever she goes next… we can't wait to see where Pixie travels! 🩷🦎✈️ Stay tuned for the next set of Pixie adventures!!!!

🐴 Pony Day at the Clinic! 🩺✨

Yesterday was all about our equine patients! From Coggins testing to dental floats, it was a busy day of learning, teamwork, and making sure our four-legged friends stay happy and healthy. 🐎💙

Our Texas Tech student, Daniel, got hands-on experience alongside our amazing technicians, Lilly and Steve, who helped ensure every patient was handled safely and received the care they needed.

One thing we’re especially passionate about is teaching the next generation of veterinary professionals. 🌟 Yesterday, that even meant bringing a little extra curiosity into the clinic! Our office manager’s daughter got the opportunity to learn about the tools, procedures, and safety protocols that go into caring for our patients, staff and clients. We believe that every day is an opportunity to learn something new, share knowledge, and inspire the next generation to care for animals with confidence, compassion, and skill. Who knows? We may have a future veterinary professional in the making! 🩺🐴

A big thank-you to everyone who helped make Pony Day a success! We’re proud to care for our patients while helping grow the future of veterinary medicine, one experience at a time. 💙
