🚨 KITTEN SEASON IS IN FULL SWING 🚨
And that means we’re seeing it over and over again…
“Found kittens! They need help!”
👉 No… most of the time, they do NOT need help.
They need their MOM.
Please understand this:
🐾 If you find newborn kittens, the best thing you can do is LEAVE THEM ALONE.
Mama cats leave to hunt and WILL come back.
When you remove those babies, you’re not “rescuing”…
👉 you’re separating them from the one thing they actually need to survive.
⸻
💥 Here’s the reality:
Rescues are OVERLOADED during kitten season.
We are run by VOLUNTEERS, not staff.
I am ONE person doing the work of many —
TNR, sanctuary cats, medical cases, and ongoing colony work.
So no — I cannot take in bottle babies right now.
And that’s not me being unwilling…
👉 that’s me knowing my limits and doing right by the cats already in my care.
Because taking on more than we can handle is NOT fair to anyone.
⸻
💡 If you find kittens, here’s what to do:
✔️ Leave them where they are
✔️ Watch from a distance for mom (give her several hours)
✔️ Keep people and dogs away
❗ ONLY intervene if:
• Mom is confirmed deceased
• Mom is visibly injured and cannot return
• The kittens are in immediate danger
⸻
🙏 Hard truth:
You don’t have to be a rescue to help.
👉 YOU can step up too.
Everyone wants to pass the responsibility off…
but rescues cannot do everything for everyone.
If you truly want to help:
• Learn how to monitor a nest
• Foster if needed
• Donate supplies
• Support your local rescue
⸻
💔 Please stop “kitten-napping” babies that aren’t in danger.
You may think you’re saving them…
but you’re actually taking them away from their mother.
⸻
🐾 Let mom do her job.
🐾 Step in ONLY when it’s truly needed.
🐾 Be part of the solution
