What a busy week we had at the barn! In just seven days, we managed to participate in three different shows. A big thank you to everyone for their hard work and dedication in making it all happen!
We kicked things off with the C Stars Stables vs. George Washington University horse show, where all the girls had a blast and the horses were absolutely perfect. Next, we attended the St. Christopher’s horse show at Swan Lake. Here are some highlights:
•Annings Time to Shine won her 3-year-old class.
•Glimmering Star made a fantastic first outing, finishing 2nd in the yearling colt/gelding class.
•Kenai and Courtney Morton delivered a solid round in the national derby.
•Silvio’s Sweet Secret and Quinn Polly Reader also put in a strong performance in the Junior/Amateur national derby.
To cap off the week, we attended BEST, where many riders experienced their firsts! I couldn’t be prouder of all the babies and girls who rode so amazingly.
•Coastal Rain and Mariah Robinson won 2 out of 3 classes in the long stirrup, earning Mariah the champion title! This was Nova’s first time under saddle off property, and it was also Mariah’s debut showing her.
•Queen of Stars and Lydia Ball made their debut together, finishing with two 2nds in the long stirrup.
•Starburst and Scarlett Fritz also had their first outing together, with Oaks showing under saddle for the first time. They finished 4th, 6th, and 7th in the long stirrup out of 21 competitors.
•Lincoln and Keri Morton (aka Mama Mort) finished as champion and reserve in the 35+ under saddle and combo classes.
•Kenai and Quinn Polly Reader had their first outing together as well and formed a great partnership. Quinn won the low children’s medal out of 16 and earned impressive ribbons in the low children’s classes.
•Optimus Prime and Madi Fisher returned for great rounds, with Prime finally jumping his heart out in the .75s and .80s.
Lastly, making their debut together were Emma Illig and Ikhan MRF. With Monty’s first time with us in the barn, he and Emma did an amazing job, achieving great rounds in the .75s and .80s.
