October 1st is National Black Dog Day!

Black dogs are less likely to be adopted from shelters than lighter colored coated dogs. Part of the reason is because they are difficult to photograph and show their features. Post your best picture of a black dog in the comments!

Poor Dasher came in after having some diarrhea and not eating as well. X-rays showed too much air in his small intestines which can be an indicator that even though diarrhea was coming out, not everything was moving through. While usually an object stuck in the intestine will cause vomiting, any GI symptoms can be a sign. Lucky for this pup, right after surgery he was back to eating and was feeling so good at home his parents had trouble keeping him calm! Dasher is a lucky pup with parents who knew something wasn’t right! This can be a life threatening condition and his parents brought him in in time to fix him up! Thankfully Dasher has made a full recovery and is at home trying hard not to get into any other kids squishy toys he shouldn’t have (well, so long as mom and dad keep a close eye on him, sneaky boy!)
