Thank you to everyone who shared our besties yesterday 🙌🏻

Unfortunately, we didn’t get any inquiries yesterday regarding our sweet Blitzen and Scarlett 💔

We know that their home is out there. And we keep telling them any day now.

Our team truly thought Blitzen would be one of the first of the Triumphant 20 to head into a home. We have no idea how he is still here 🤯

‼️Let’s see how many shares, tags, etc we can get today !

It’s almost forever home time, besties.
We promise 🙏🏻

tl;dr: don't feed your cat raw diets or let them outside right now, they can get bird flu

In addition to being a crazy dog lady, I'm also a crazy cat lady. This cat lady is a certified veterinary nurse in the state of Oregon, and I just received an email about avian flu infecting cats through a couple of different methods. One of those methods is through raw food, and the other is exposure to infected birds. Here's a document about HPAI (Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza) and what has been reported to the Oregon Department of Agriculture (trigger warning: discusses deceased animals):https://www.oregon.gov/oda/Documents/Publications/AnimalHealth/HPAIVetGuidance-Pets.pdf

Although I'm currently in Detroit, we are also experiencing HPAI. Here is an article with guidance and information from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (trigger warning: discusses deceased animals): https://www.michigan.gov/dnr/about/newsroom/releases/2025/02/11/dnr-suspects-bird-flu-in-recent-lower-michigan-waterfowl-die-offs

So excited for this! I'll be presenting on August 18 at 5:30pm (eastern) on scent work and reactivity. CEU's are available from Karen Pryor Academy, Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, Inc., Peaceable Paws LLC, and of course the The Pet Professional Guild. It's on Zoom so you can do it from home with your furry family by your side. Register here: https://www.petprofessionalguild.com/webinars-events/webinars/celebrating-life-together-a-pet-approved-event/

This will be a very short preview of an upcoming 2-day in-person event that will be presented by Robert Hewings and I for The College Of Scent Dogs Ltd in September. If you'll be in the area September 9 and 10, we'd love to see you! More info and registration here: https://www.thecollegeofscentdogs.com/thecollegeworkshops
This seminar qualifies for CPD points as well!

Hope to see you at one or both events!
