Meet Pastina.

Every good pasta dish needs the perfect little noodle, and Pastina is exactly that.

This beautiful 1-year-old medium-haired brown tabby showed up in Boston Edison with her best friend Macaroni. She was a little shy at first, hanging back while she figured out whether these humans could be trusted. A few days of good food changed her mind, and soon she was walking right up to ask for pets.

Pastina is gentle, quiet, and wonderfully polite. She'll sit beside you and patiently wait for head scratches and ear rubs, then settle in by the window to keep an eye on the neighborhood and chatter at the birds.

When the feather wand comes out, suddenly, this elegant little lady becomes a full-blown kitten. She'll chase, pounce, and drag her favorite toys all the way back to her bed like she's bringing home the night's catch.

Pastina is also the perfect long-haired companion. She loves being brushed and will even patiently roll onto her back for belly brushing. Talk about a cat who knows how to enjoy the finer things in life.

And her favorite ingredient is Macaroni. These two are incredibly bonded, often found headbutting, cuddling in bed, and grooming each other. Pastina is the quiet one who will happily sit beside you while you read, while Macaroni supplies the endless entertainment.

They're a perfect recipe.

We strongly prefer that Pastina and Macaroni be adopted together.

Because Pastina without Macaroni is like pasta without sauce. Something important is missing.

Meet Macaroni.

Somebody let the pasta out of the pantry, and now Macaroni is running the kitchen.

This 1-year-old black and white boy showed up in Boston Edison with his best friend Pastina, looking like a skinny teenager and ready for two things: food and attention. These days, he's filled out beautifully and still has all the kitten energy to match his endless appetite for fun.

Macaroni is sweet, curious, outgoing, and completely convinced that every person he meets is there to pet him. He'll run right up to strangers, headbutt your hand, and demand attention like he's been waiting all day for room service. When he really needs you, he'll even break out the cutest little trills and chirps.

When he's not busy collecting admirers, Macaroni is ready to play. Wand toys, springs, chasing anything that moves... he's got the energy to keep the whole kitchen busy.

His favorite part of the day, though, might be spending time with Pastina. These two are incredibly bonded. They cuddle together in bed, groom each other, and can often be found headbutting like two little pasta noodles that somehow found their way into the same bowl.

Pastina brings the quiet. Macaroni brings the chaos. Together, they are the perfect recipe.

We strongly prefer that Macaroni and Pastina be adopted together.

Because some things simply belong on the same plate.

Uh-oh... Spaghetti-O! Looks like someone fell head over paws for this sweet little girl.

Spaghetti-O is a beautiful 4-month-old grey and white tabby from Detroit's Bagley neighborhood, and this little noodle has completely unraveled in foster care.

She was shy when she first arrived, but once she realized she was safe, her sweet personality came pouring out. Now? She's constantly purring away in her foster's lap and proving that sometimes the quiet ones are the biggest cuddlebugs.

Unlike her brother, Spaghetti-O isn't interested in causing chaos, climbing the walls, or starting a kitten wrestling match. She's an all-around angel girl who would much rather curl up in your lap, turn on her purr motor, and soak up some love.

Sweet, gentle, affectionate, and ready to be someone's favorite little noodle.

Uh-oh... Spaghetti-O is ready to come home!

Meet Mochi.

Sweet, soft, independent, and absolutely full of personality. This 5-year-old brown and white tabby from Detroit's North End may have been dumped on New Year's Eve, but she is ready to start a much sweeter chapter.

Mochi is a princess with very specific interests. Her current favorites include murdering wadded-up paper balls, claiming the office chair for her afternoon naps, watching the automatic litter box like it's premium television, inspecting every window in the house, exploring basements and garages, soaking up sunshine on her harness, and, naturally, tuna.

During the day, Mochi is perfectly happy doing her own thing nearby. She's independent, curious, and very good at keeping herself entertained. Come morning and bedtime, though, the princess becomes a cuddlebug. Once she trusts you, she'll climb right on top of her favorite humans, purr for hours, and remind you that underneath all that independence is a serious velcro cat.

Mochi knows what she wants and has no problem telling you. She may take some time to trust, but once you're hers, you're really hers.

She could happily be your one-and-only cat, or she may enjoy a couple of calm feline friends. Dogs, however, are not on the dessert menu.

If your perfect companion is sweet with a little attitude, Mochi is waiting for you.

Meet Peanut.

The leaves are starting to turn, the air is getting cooler, and Peanut is ready for her favorite season: staying cozy with her person.

This beautiful 15-year-old grey tabby came to us from Southwest Detroit, and she may have a few years behind her, but don't tell her that. Peanut looks and acts like a youngster and has plenty of personality left to share.

Peanut is a loving girl who wants what every autumn queen deserves: attention, affection, and a comfortable place to spend her days. She may take a little time to warm up, but once you've earned her trust, you've got yourself a loyal companion who will want to be wherever you are.

She enjoys being near her people and doesn't mind sharing her space with other cats. She's even learned to tolerate a Doberman, which feels like a pretty impressive accomplishment. She'd likely do best in a quieter home without children, since that's an experience she hasn't had before.

Peanut does have one important rule: the petting continues until SHE says it ends. Stop too soon and you may receive a gentle little slap or nibble as a reminder. She's also known for making the funniest little face when her lip gets caught on her tooth, giving her an expression that is equal parts adorable and mildly offended.

Think warm blankets, crunchy leaves, quiet evenings, and a sweet senior girl following you from room to room.

Peanut is ready for an autumn spent feeling safe, loved, and wanted.

A few weeks ago one of our partnered clinics reached out to use for help with a cat stuck in a house in Hamtramck. His owner died, and the owners widow is dealing with the situation. This kitty was known to be very friendly in the past but has been scared and hiding most of the time since his owner died. Once caught, we expect him to be scared for a few days, but he should warm up to a foster quickly from what we know of him. He used to be very friendly and affectionate. Looking for the right patient foster willing to give this poor deserving boy another a chance with a family again! If new to us, please visit detroitalleycats.org/foster
