Meet Mochi!

Sweet, soft, and a little particular about who gets to enjoy her company, Mochi is a 5-year-old North End girl who lives up to her delicious namesake. Like the little Japanese rice cakes, she’s a total treat, but this princess has her own recipe for happiness, and she isn’t afraid to tell you when something’s missing.

Mochi was dumped outside on New Year’s Eve, and now she’s looking for a forever home where she’ll never have to wonder where she belongs again. She loves chasing wadded-up paper balls and absolutely destroying them, finding the perfect office chair for a nap, inspecting every window in the house, and watching the automatic litter box do its thing. Add a little tuna to the menu, and you might have the way to this girl’s heart.

Mochi is an independent lady during the day. She likes being near her people, but she has important business to attend to, including window surveillance and paper-ball murder. Come morning and bedtime, though, she turns into a purring little Velcro cat, happily settling on top of her trusted humans for hours of affection. She takes her time learning to trust, but once you’re her person, you’ll get to see just how sweet she can be.

This girl also enjoys supervised outdoor adventures in her harness, where she can soak up the sunshine and sniff the grass. Mochi will be perfectly happy as your one-and-only cat in a home without outdoor feline visitors to mess up her view. Dogs are also not on the menu.

Mochi has spent enough time being let down by people. Now she deserves a home that understands her independence, respects her boundaries, and saves a spot on the couch for her when she’s ready to cuddle. If you have room in your life for one very sweet girl with a little extra filling, Mochi might be your perfect treat.

Meet Mac & Cheese!

Some things in life are better together, and these two orange tabby brothers from Warrendale are living proof. At five months old, Mac & Cheese come as a package deal, and separating them would be like serving the noodles without the cheese. Technically possible, but why would you do that?

These boys are two peas in a pod, full of chatter, purrs, and enough biscuit-making to keep an entire bakery in business. Mac is the more confident brother, a professional snuggler who will stare lovingly into your eyes like you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to him. Cheese is a little more reserved at first, but he’s coming out of his shell and revealing his true calling: being an absolute goofball. Give these two a toy, and they’ll find a way to turn it into a good time. Honestly, give them a random household object and they’ll probably find a way to make that work, too.

Once they’re comfortable, both boys are total love bugs who want to chat with you, curl up nearby, and purr their little hearts out. They’re also great with other cats! They’ve shown interest in their foster’s dogs, though they haven’t officially met yet, and their feelings about kids are still unknown.

Mac & Cheese are looking for a forever home together, where they can keep each other company, get into a little harmless mischief, and serve up a double helping of affection every single day. Adopt them both, and you’ll never have to choose between Mac and Cheese again.

Meet Rocket!

Rocket is a 3-year-old tuxedo boy from Corktown, Detroit, and he’s got the attitude, the brains, and the questionable impulse control of a certain trash panda from the Guardians of the Galaxy. He may not have a jetpack or a personal vendetta against the entire galaxy, but he does have a very specific mission: getting as many head scratches as physically possible.

Rocket can be shy and apprehensive when you first meet him, but once he decides you’re not a threat, congratulations. You’re his person now. He’ll weave between your legs, deliver enthusiastic head-butts, and climb onto your lap, chest, or whatever part of you is available. He will continue head-butting until he decides the scratch quota has been met. This can take a few minutes. Possibly several. He has standards.

Toys and window watching are fun, but honestly? You’re the main attraction. Rocket wants to be wherever you are, following you from room to room like your very own furry bodyguard. He even understands “bad,” “sit,” and “stay,” although saying “okay, come here” apparently means his head-butting privileges have been reinstated.

Now, Rocket wouldn’t be Rocket without a little chaos. He can nip or swipe when he gets overstimulated, and his signature zig-zag walk means you’ll need to watch your step and move slowly around him. These behaviors have already been improving, and his foster expects them to continue getting better. He’ll need a patient family willing to learn his pace and give him time to feel safe. A quieter home without little ones running around would likely suit him best. His feelings about other cats and dogs are still unknown, so those introductions will need to happen carefully.

He might be a little rough around the edges, but underneath all that attitude is a boy who wants to trust someone, follow them everywhere, and head-butt his way straight into their heart. Rocket’s looking for his own little galaxy to call home.

Meet Kalidor!

In a world of swords, sorcery, and epic adventures, one tiny warrior from Bagley is preparing for his greatest quest yet: finding his forever home.

Kalidor is a 12-week-old black and white kitten, and while he may be small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, he’s already got the makings of a legend. He’s a sweet boy who likes to take his time, finding a high-up perch where he can survey the land and study the situation before deciding whether to join the action. A warrior must know his surroundings after all.

Kalidor can be a little shy at first, but give him some time and a little patience, and this young adventurer will start to come into his own. He’s also VERY food motivated, which means the fastest way to earn his trust might involve a few well-placed treats. Even the mightiest warriors have a weakness and Kalidor’s may be snacks.

He’s still young, with a whole world left to explore and plenty of adventures ahead of him. All he needs is someone willing to help him build his confidence and show him that his forever home is a place where he can feel safe, loved, and ready to conquer the world.

What is best in life? Finding your forever family, obviously.

Meet Jessica Jones!

Jessica Jones has a new case, and this one is personal: finding her forever home.

This one-year-old tuxedo girl from Greenfield is a little different from the hard-boiled detective you might be expecting. Instead of solving mysteries from a dark office in Hell’s Kitchen, Jessica spends her days being held, chasing toy mice, scratching cardboard, and making friends with absolutely everyone she meets.

She is a complete lover and would happily be glued to your hip if given the choice. Jessica is outgoing, VERY social, and always ready to meet someone new. She loves attention, loves being held, and has never met a treat she didn’t consider evidence worth investigating.

She may not have super strength, but Jessica has one undeniable superpower: getting people to fall in love with her.

Her other talents include toy-mouse surveillance, advanced cardboard destruction, treat detection, and maintaining constant contact with her person. Honestly, Alias Investigations could use someone with her skill set.

Jessica has spent enough time waiting around for her next case. She’s ready for a forever home where she can be your sidekick, cuddle buddy, and personal detective all in one.

Meet Bubbles!

Someone call the Professor because there’s another Bubbles in town! This 9-month-old brown tabby from Virginia Park is full of sugar, spice, and everything nice. She’s super cuddly, loves attention, loves to play, and is a BIG climber. Cat trees are basically her version of saving Townsville.

Bubbles also loves going outside, but only if her person is with her. Apparently even superheroes need a sidekick. If she’s out there alone, she’ll be heading right back inside to find you.

She’s still getting to know the other animals in her foster home. Dogs make her nervous, so she’s currently separated from them. She’s been watching the resident cats through the door, though, and after some time to warm up, she’s become very interested in them and has started trying to play.

She may not have been created with Chemical X, but Bubbles definitely has some superpowers of her own. She’s cuddly, playful, curious, and ready to climb her way into your heart.

Meet King

The Pumpkin King has arrived, and apparently his royal duties include absolutely destroying he's spooky kicker toy.

King is a two-year-old void from New Center with enormous green eyes, very short fur, and a face that is a little goofy in the best possible way. He may not look like the most serious king you’ve ever seen, but he certainly believes he deserves the royal treatment.

It took King a couple of weeks to feel comfortable coming out around his foster, so he’ll need a quiet, patient home where he can take his time getting settled. Once he decides you’re worthy of his company, though, he really starts to let his personality show. He now comes running to greet his foster when they enter the room, rubs against their hand when he wants pets, and has even started cuddling at night. For King, that is a very big deal.

He loves head scratches, prefers being somewhere high where he can survey his kingdom, and apparently takes his job as the household kitten groomer very seriously. He bathes all the kittens, because even a young king has responsibilities.

King still isn’t a fan of loud noises or unfamiliar voices, so he’ll do best somewhere calm and predictable. Give him patience, a little time, and a quiet place to rule, and you’ll get to watch this goofy little guy slowly turn into the affectionate companion he’s meant to be.

He may be a Pumpkin King, but his favorite royal activity appears to be beating up a pumpkin.

Meet Doritos Locos Taco

Dorito may be a little shy, but she has some very important Taco Bell-related priorities: a quiet place to relax, a cozy cat bed, plenty of people-watching, and an unlimited supply of Churu.

This gorgeous one-year-old ginger tortie from Pallister Park is what you might call a reverse tortie, with a beautiful medium-length coat that makes her impossible to miss. She was found in her foster’s alley with her three kittens, and after doing her duty as the world’s most okayest mom, all three babies have found their forever homes. Now it’s Dorito’s turn.

Dorito is still learning that people can be trusted, so she needs a patient person who will let her come out of her shell at her own pace. She would be happiest in a quieter home where she can settle in, find her favorite bed, and spend her days watching the world through the window. She has the cutest little meows, and she’s starting to discover that wand toys and springs are actually pretty fun.

She gets along well with both cats and dogs, but there is one creature she absolutely cannot stand: the robot vacuum. Honestly, we respect her position.

Dorito may need a little time before she’s ready to show you her full personality, but once she does, you’ll have earned something pretty special. All she needs is someone willing to give her the patience, unlimited Churus, and quiet home she deserves.

She may not be ready to burst through the doors yelling “LIVE MÁS!” yet, but with the right person, Dorito is going to discover just how good life can be.
