Destin Dog Park The Nancy Weidenhamer Dog Park in Destin is a world-class, 3 acre park. It's a place where tails wag, friendships form, and memories are made.

It features separate areas for large and small dogs, shaded rest areas, and secure double-gated entries. The City Council of Destin has approved the creation of a Dog Park on the 1 ½ acre parcel of land next to the City Hall Annex. The City will pay 50% of the start up costs and dog lovers will pay the other 50% of the start up costs. The total funds must be raised prior to starting construction of the park. The major items required to start the Dog Park are signage, fencing/gates, and fixtures.

Happy Heavenly Birthday to the beloved founder of our dog park, Nancy Weidenhamer. A truly remarkable woman whose impact reached far beyond this special place.

She touched the lives of her family, friends, and community, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication to the place she called home.

Her vision and spirit continue to live on. Today, we celebrate the life she lived and honor the legacy she left behind.

Thank you to those who let us know the lights at the dog park were not working. The wonderful City of Destin Parks & Rec staff is working on a fix. The lights will be on from dusk to 10pm when the park closes. Enjoy the cooler temps! 🐾
