The Coaching, Communication and Client Motivation workshop is a 2-day, in-person event dedicated to helping dog pros facilitate impactful learning sessions with the human end of the leash.

There is a harsh reality in the dog profession that many instructors have GREAT dog skills but lack that same greatness when it comes to teaching humans.

Unfortunately, that gap in skill can lead to a disconnect between the dog and handlers we want to help.

This workshop will help close the gap. (and get you enjoying teaching again!)

Open to professional trainers, group class instructors, shelter and rescue staff, ..anyone who wants to improve their ability to motivate pet owners to do the work needed to maintain a successful life with their dogs.

Because if you're effective with the 2-legged student..the 4 legged learner will have a much better chance of having a fulfilling life in a forever home. 🐾

Nice work from the students that showed up for a little practice with their spicy ones today. πŸ’ͺ The outbursts were half-hearted and very short-lived. Good work everyone!

The morning reset.

Keeping yourself centered isn’t always easy, but it is always necessary.

As a professional trainer you owe it to the dogs and your clients to ensure your mindset is in the right place when you start a training session.

Without a focused, calm center to build on, it’s hard to bring your A game.

This is how I center, and my dogs benefit immensely.

Find 30 minutes for you and your personal dogs, each day and experience the shift.

Professional Dog Trainers, ask yourself these questions:

Are you struggling to get your clients committed to doing the work?

Do you prefer to just do board and trains because working with the dog is SO much easier than working with the humans that own them?

Do you find yourself frustrated that clients just aren't getting it and their dogs suffer the fall out?

If you answered Yes, to any of those questions, then ask yourself one more:

If spending a weekend improving your people training skills would help your clients do better would you show up?

If you answered Yes, or even "maybe" click the link to learn more. ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️

I haven't posted anything about the queen in a while. Photo was taken the other day after one of the morning walkabouts around the property.

Diva is still going strong and amazes us every day. Officially 16.5 years now, deaf (or at least pretends to be!), lost her left eye this spring but barely skipped a beat.

Both Loki & Indy yield to her. Long live the πŸ‘‘

But seeing this information posted around the ship really stuck with me. What a simple and brilliant idea. Well done Princess Cruises

I have been part of this association since 1999 when two of the founders, Martin Deeley and Pat Trichter, responded to my application to join with an invitation to come visit them in Florida.

We remained in contact and a few months after the visit I was elected to the BOD. I was honored to serve in various roles from 2000-2006.

I’ve been a member and continued to volunteer off and on over these many years. I have many deep friendships as a result of those relationships. 😊

This award came as a surprise and while I was not present to receive it, it is very meaningful and I’m deeply grateful.

We are thrilled to celebrate Robin MacFarlane’s induction into the IACP Member Hall of Fame! πŸŽ‰

Robin, thank you for all you have given to the IACP and to the dogs and professionals you have helped along the way. Welcome to the IACP Member Hall of Fame!
