Hi friends, we have been putting this off as long as we could, but due to rising operating costs, especially fuel and insurance premiums, Southside Sitter must raise our rates.

Effective April 19, the following pricing will go into effect:

Up to 20 minute visit: $25
30 minutes: $30
45 minutes: $35
60 minutes: $40
Overnight: $95

Update: Adopted!!

Meet Jasper! The loveable pup with a heart of gold!

Jasper originally came to Furry Friends as a stray in 2023 and was adopted into a loving home. Unfortunately, Jasper wasn't able to stay in that home due to the health of his owner, so now we are hoping to find him a home to love him for the rest of his days, just like his last home!

This boy is super smart and knows sit, stay, down, leave it, and would love to use his brain to learn more and more! He does great with kids, other dogs, and cats and can fit in perfect in any home! At just under three years old he is ready for a life of fun and cuddles with a family who is ready to receive all of the love he can give. Stop by the shelter between 2 and 8 on the weekdays and 11 and 5 on the weekends at 3505 Mills Civic Parkway in West Des Moines for a chance to meet the sweetest boy around!

Meet Rocky, a lovable 13-year-old cat with a heart full of affection just waiting to shine! Rocky has had a full life, and he’s done wonderfully with cats, kids, and dogs in the past, showing his friendly and adaptable nature. Although he’s a sweet and gentle boy, he’s struggling to show his true self at the shelter, feeling a bit out of sorts in the busy environment. Once in a quiet, loving home, Rocky is sure to come out of his shell and reveal just how much love he has to give. He enjoys gentle petting and will happily curl up next to you for some quiet companionship. Rocky is looking for a calm home where he can relax, feel safe, and enjoy his golden years surrounded by love. Meet Caitlin, the queen of tortitude with a side of sweet snuggles! 🐾😼 She’s got the sass and attitude of a true tortie, and while she would prefer to rule the house without any other cats (she’s the queen, after all!), she’s done just fine sharing her kingdom with a few others. 💁‍♀️ When she’s in the mood for love, though, she’s all about the cozy cuddles and belly rubs! 💕 If you dare to challenge her, be prepared for side-eye and an occasional swipe, but once she trusts you, she’ll shower you with purrs. 🙌 Caitlin’s a perfect mix of tough and tender – the best of both worlds! 🐱💖
