Little Finnegan has been backed out on once again. We feel so bad for him! He’s not getting a fair chance as the potential adopters don’t even come to meet him. Poor little guy just sits here waiting…

And that got us thinking that maybe folks don’t realize that once we set up a meeting for an applicant to come and meet one of the dogs, that dog is then put on hold for that person.

What has been happening here lately is that we set the meeting up, the dogs waits and then a day or two before, or sometimes that day, the applicant says they aren’t coming.

So please, make sure you really want the dog before you apply or send that email. Check that your family agrees. Check the dogs weight. Read the bio. Is this what you really want?

It’s sad when they have to start all over again with a new applicant. And wait yet again.

In case anyone wants an update, I am now closer than ever to being able to offer full grooming services on a sliding scale for those in need, and free for shelter dogs! To be able to say that I can do absolute full service grooming, I am a couple of pairs of specialty scissors, and just a few more blade sizes, and maybe one brush short, but I've already been able to do most things as long as it doesn't require seven different blade sizes for the cut, including nail trims and shave downs, de-matting butt furs and other necessary grooming that some babes need. Sorry to have a few of you waiting in my DMs, It took me a while to get the correct clippers, dremel, and other equipment like muzzles that I wanted to have before I started doing this... But here I am! Not quite ready to do a poodle cut but certainly ready to do most grooms until I get there!
Regarding cheap and sliding scale: It's going to be dealer's choice, especially if your dog is matted, so if you want to be picky I'm not the one for you. But if your dog needs help and you want them cleaned up and or dematted and made more comfortable, And you don't care what kind of haircut it is, then we might be compatible! If you know anyone that could benefit from my services, drop me a line.

Slacked off on cleaning up after pups 💩💩 and now its all freezy pops outside? Yeah I'll still come do it! I don't have all this cold weather gear for nothin! (Pricing at end of post!)
**Note: where there is a lot of ice, some can be chiseled out and some can't. By "can't" I mean it'll break apart and be a mess when it thaws so best to leave the really stubborn ones. But, since I charge by how much time I spend, it'll be cheaper if I have to leave a few and it's still better to get the bulk of it than none!
Due to the current unpredictable weather, I am not starting any plans at this time. Each job will be charged separately. Trust me, this benefits you, especially if I get snowed in. 20 bucks gets me out there, and covers up to an hour. Additional charges are added to the tune of $5 for every 15 min increment over that hour. So still 20 an hour but I break it up into quarters so you don't have to pay a whole 20 for less than an hour over. I'm quick and can get a lot done in an hour.
If you have a Budget, just tell me and I will just do as much as I can within your budget of time.
If not I'll just go until the job is done. (Or as done as it can be with the snow/ice)

Trying to see how much I can kickstart this relief fund in the 30 days that PayPal allows for fundraisers!
A lot of y'all expressed that you aren't fond of GoFundMe, so I'm using PP for this one.
Again, it only will be up for 30 days so please share! If I can make that $500 goal by the end of the 30 days, that will pay for at least a couple long distance, or more than several short distance emergency transports!
Please don't confuse this with the GoFundMe that I also have set up which is for school and supplies for my own service animal in training. This is a separate fund, used only for what is described.

So for y'all who don't know, I'm trying to do more emergency/rescue/free animal transport this spring. I love doing critter transpo as a job, and will keep doing so, but I also want to help more.
I'm starting a fund, tentantively called "Homeward Hound," (we have a few other names we're looking at if that one is taken or we like one better but that's it for now, taking suggestions and might even have a vote/contest!) that will cover gas and supplies for these types of runs when they are asked of me, as this tends to be the only barrier when someone needs my help. I've done it out of pocket, but I can't always and I'm sure you've noticed that I'm dirt poor right meow. I am always willing, however, to donate my time, knowledge, work, and the mileage it'll put on my car. Just don't always have the money for gas or immediate supplies to do so.
This is a way I can help DIRECTLY, use skills that I have and things I love to do (drive long distances and tend animals) to make a change, and know EXACTLY where the money that people help with is going and show it.
There will be 2 ways to help.

All money I had set aside for helping was exhausted on my last run, and miraculously was actually just enough for the gas to get that critter, and myself, home. If you'd like to help me get more money back into that reserve, or, send any helpful supplies, then here y'all go! I won't likely be doing many long distance trips the next couple of months so now is a great time to get this back up.
***Grooming supplies that you see on the list are because I want to help with that as well! I plan on 2022 being the year that I go back into dog grooming, but other than a very few specific prospective clients, it is going to be mostly donating my time and skill to shelter animals to pretty them up and help them find homes, and helping with nails and matted dogs that come into shelters so they can be more comfortable. That's why the clippers and muzzles are on the list. I've been wanting to do this but no longer have my clippers, and because of the arthritis in my hands I unfortunately need very specific ones that I am used to.
