National Veterinary Technician Week is here, and we want to take a moment to shine a spotlight on the heart and soul of our clinic. 🐾💙

From comforting anxious pets with gentle belly rubs to running vital diagnostic tests, monitoring anesthesia, administering medication, and keeping our doctors on schedule, our vet techs do it all with unyielding compassion, expertise, and dedication.

They are the calm during a stressful emergency, the warm embrace after a surgery, and the dedicated advocates for your pets' health every single day. MountainView simply wouldn't be the same without their hard work, late nights, and endless love for every animal that walks through our doors.

Our gratitude to Christy (supervisor), Lisa, Suzanne, Abrille, Liz, Jessie, and Amy. 🐕🐈💙

We had a great visit with a troop of Girl Scouts last night!

We started with a treat when Jessie brought in two of the French Bulldog puppies that we helped deliver. Then Christy and Suzanne discussed how to take temperatures, check heart rates, and check for ticks and fleas, and gave a demo on how to bandage an animal. The girls got some hands-on practice doing this and we can envision some future vet techs and veterinarians in the group!!

We will be hosting several more troops this year but have filled the schedule. We will announce a new round of dates next year.

Yikes, what is that scratching sound? Is it a mouse or a squirrel?

No, it's only Pancake! Making herself comfortable with our new client welcome bags! 😅🐱

It is our anniversary today‼️️

It was 18 years ago that Dr. Elizabeth Boggier founded MountainView Veterinary Hospital as an independent, locally owned practice dedicated to the health and happiness of our community’s pets.

Reaching this milestone wouldn't be possible without the trust of our wonderful clients and the privilege of caring for thousands of beloved dogs and cats over the years. As we celebrate nearly two decades of compassionate veterinary care, our commitment remains the same: providing personalized, high-quality medicine with the same heart and personal touch you’ve relied on since day one. Thank you for letting us be a part of your pets' lives!

How do you prevent and recognize a kitten emergency? 🐱

Most kitten emergencies come from two directions: the hazards sitting around your home, and the infections and parasites a young immune system cannot fight off on its own. Both are largely preventable, which is why the vaccine and deworming series matters as much as a walk through the house looking for string, cords, and lilies. A two-pound kitten has very little reserve, so a swallowed thread or a dose of the wrong medication can turn serious within hours. Knowing the difference between a change that needs a same-day exam and one that means going in right away is what keeps a scare from turning into a crisis.

We have an update on the puppies we delivered via c-section 6 weeks ago for the French Bulldog Rescue Network (FBRN)! They came in for their first vaccinations and are looking great!

They will be off to their foster homes soon and their DNA results are pending. The mom is a Frenchie but we don't know about the dad, although he must be 100% cutie.

MountainView is proud to support local rescues such as FBRN and has developed an expertise in working with medical issues related to the unique anatomy of French Bulldogs.
