🎃CREATURES OF VLP • 005
Ruby, The Keeper of the Inner Circle

Legend tells of a devoted little shadow whose family is her entire universe. New visitors must undergo a thorough investigation, conducted mostly through suspicious looks.

Winning her trust requires an ancient ritual: pick up the leash. Go for a walk. Repeat.

With every adventure, her protective spell softens, until one day you realize you’ve been welcomed into her very exclusive circle.

You cannot charm your way into Ruby’s heart. You have to walk there.

🎃CREATURES OF VLP • 004
Winnie, The Gentle Gatekeeper

An ancient soul disguised as a very good dog, Winnie moves slowly and deliberately. She may be listening to messages from the spirit world. She may be deciding whether this walk could have been shorter.

When she stops, the journey is complete. You may appeal this decision, but the Gatekeeper does not recognize your authority.

Despite her mystical powers, she can be summoned by the faintest rustle of a treat bag.

Approach gently. Bring an offering. Respect the turnaround.

🎃THE CREATURES OF VIVA LA PET
No. 003: Kenley, the Gentle Enchantress

After years of noble service protecting her human, this wise guardian retired to practice a different kind of magic.

She looks at you. You give her whatever she wants.

No chanting. No potions. Just a slight tilt of the head, and suddenly the rules no longer apply to her.

Attempts to resist have been documented. None were successful.

Should Kenley appear before you, offer tribute and tell her she’s a good girl.

She already knows. But she enjoys hearing it.

🎃THE CREATURES OF VIVA LA PET
No. 002: The Chocolates, Hounds of the Unfinished Walk

Known to mortals as Eleanor and Shelby, these inseparable creatures roam the earth investigating things no human can see.

A suspicious leaf. An ancient squirrel footprint. Something that happened to this grass in 2009.

When one detects a disturbance, the other must confirm it. Independently. Thoroughly. We cannot proceed on one nose’s findings.

Between investigations, they engage in wild celebrations believed to strengthen their ancient bond. Experts describe this ritual as “two absolute maniacs.”

Should you encounter the Chocolates, do not be afraid. You are safe.

🎃In the spirit of the season, we introduce you to Creatures of VLP🎃

THE CREATURES OF VIVA LA PET
No. 001: Captain Mustache, the Vanishing Countess

Recognizable by her magnificent mustache, this elusive creature appears for playtime before quietly dissolving into the shadows.

Do not search for her. Do not call her name. She has heard you. Your request is under review.

Despite her mysterious nature, the Countess is particularly fond of sleepovers with her Viva La Pet companions. Even a creature of darkness appreciates having staff stay overnight.

To summon her, simply settle in and become unavailable. She will materialize.

🐾 WE’RE LOOKING FOR ANOTHER GOOD HUMAN.

Not just someone who likes dogs. Lots of people like dogs.

We’re looking for someone who notices when the shy dog finally comes to the door to greet them. Someone who knows that a 25-minute walk might be a small part of their day, but it’s a pretty big part of that dog’s day.

Someone dependable. Kind. A little silly. Comfortable with muddy paws, slobbery kisses, weird pet nicknames, and taking approximately 47 photos to get the perfect one.

Viva La Pet has been caring for local pets for more than 20 years, and we’re looking for another wonderful person to join our small team of dog walkers and pet sitters.

This is flexible, part-time work with weekday dog walks and opportunities for pet sitting, weekends and additional visits.

What matters most to us? You’re reliable. You communicate. You take the responsibility seriously. And you genuinely care about the animals entrusted to you.

If you’ve ever thought, “Honestly, I’d rather hang out with dogs,” this might be your sign.

Interested? Send us a message and tell us a little about yourself and your availability.

Know someone perfect? Send this their way!

We’re looking for someone interested in consistent part-time work during weekday daytime hours, with the opportunity to take on more as you get established with us.

You should be genuinely experienced and comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities, active and able to handle a physical job, dependable, and not afraid of a little rain, snow, heat or mud. Our dogs still need us when the weather isn’t perfect! ☔️🐶

We’re a small, supportive team and try to be flexible whenever we can, but reliability is incredibly important since our clients and their pets are counting on us.

If this sounds like something you’d love, send me a message and tell me a little about yourself and your experience with animals!
