Playing with limited colors and experimenting with light reflecting on the water. The quality of this paper is really challenging. I had to rework the mountains and their reflection several times because of bleeding. 🤷‍♀️

Had a fun painting day last weekend with my mom, sister and niece. Mom wanted to paint a picture of the view out of her plane window from a recent trip. So she and I painted the same scene, me walking her through each step. Here is my version. It was a bit frustrating because my sketchbook paper is cheap and got torn up removing the tape for the horizon and with the saturated colors. If you want to try watercolor or have started painting and you aren’t getting great results, try switching paper quality. 140lb 300 gsm 100% cotton yields smoother gradients and the paper doesn’t ball up on you unless you really abuse it.

Zero days since this gangster stole the ham and cheese sandwich off the table while I was finishing up some work and then ran around the kitchen while I tried to retrieve it. Good thing he’s cute.

Excited about how this one turned out. It was pretty much unplanned. I knew I wanted a sky of blue, yellow and orange hues. Originally, this painting was only going to be the top half. I’m glad I kept going with it.
