⚠️ Cat Owners: Lilies Can Be DEADLY ⚠️

With spring bouquets and holiday flowers appearing in homes, we want to share a reminder. Lilies are extremely toxic to cats.

Even small exposures such as licking pollen, chewing a leaf, or drinking water from a vase can cause sudden kidney failure. Symptoms may start with vomiting, lethargy, or loss of appetite, but damage can happen quickly, often within hours.

If you suspect your cat has been exposed to lilies, seek emergency veterinary care immediately. Early treatment can save lives.

Please keep all lilies including Easter, Tiger, Calla, and Day lilies completely out of homes with cats. Please also let friends and family know.

When in doubt, call us right away. We are here to help protect your pets. 🐾

💡Patient Spotlight💡

Meet Zen! Zen was a feral kitten that my husband and I adopted, along with her brother, about 16 years ago. When her senior blood work showed her kidney values declining, I knew that regular subcutaneous fluids would be an important way to help her kidneys manage this progressive, irreversible disease and hopefully give us a little more time with our beloved kitty.

We previously administered sub-Q fluids at home for another cat. He tolerated it well. Zen does not. So instead, Zen comes in twice a week for fluids.

Keith is our regular technician, and he takes wonderful care of Zen. He is gentle, patient, and compassionate. He takes the time to get to know each animal and never rushes. Keith showed me how to gently separate the clumps Zen gets in her fur, and now we spend a few minutes doing that at each appointment. She actually seems to enjoy it! He also monitors her weight and clips her nails when needed.

Evans East has made this ongoing care more affordable by allowing me to bring in my own bag of fluids, line setup, and needles.

While Zen doesn’t love the overall vet experience, Keith makes it much more tolerable for her. I am truly grateful for Keith, the other wonderful technicians we’ve met along the way, and Dr. Lipkin. I also want to give a shout-out to the women at the front desk. Whether it’s scheduling regular appointments, tracking down records from another vet, handling an emergency, or navigating whatever your pet needs, they genuinely care and always do their best to help.
