Highlands Animal Clinic is the neighborhood veterinary clinic for your four-legged family. We treat your pets as if they were our own.

Through prevention, early detection and progressive treatment, we aim to provide your pet with the maximum quantity and quality of life. Our state-of-the-art amenities are nestled in a restored Victorian that is as warm and welcoming as our veterinary team. We know that the environment is critical to care and comfort, so we created a space that feels like home for you and your pet.

it's the "little" things in life, and sometimes that means kittens 🐾 Lilith had her first visit with us and she was a doll for us the whole way! Not to mention? Her first exam with us was FREE since she is a rescue!

Lily has had a tough several weeks, from surgeries, urgent care visits, excessive follow up care, and so much more.
Lily's owner has spared no expense and gone above and beyond for her favorite girl! She is also simply an amazing person
who we are all so happy to know! 🐾

While Lily may be a tiny, she is also mighty! She was SO brave for each and every visit, from surgery, to recheck, to suture removals, and everything in between. 💛 Now that Lily is on the up and up, she can get back to living her best life for all the summer activities that colorful Colorado has to offer!

Our ✨ 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒 𝐀𝐔𝐆𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐏𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 ✨ has arrived! Our team has chosen the lovely Scarlett, a 10 year old Irish Setter! Scarlett has been such a frequent flyer at Highlands Animal Clinic since 2016 and each member of our team certainly knows her by name! 🐾 Scarlett has been one of the most resilient patients we know - from her unwavering patience during her appointments with us, to her resilience having overcome many of the toughest ailments: GDV, arthritis management, carcinoma, and many acute things along the way to just name a few. Scarlett has remained a healthy, happy girl and overcomes every obstacle she faces, and her owners do nothing but go above and beyond for her. Cheers to more happy and healthy years for Scarlett! 💛

Colorado has been 🔥 CRANKING UP THE HEAT 🔥 We wanted to remind all of our clients to take extra precautions when enjoying summer activities with their pets in this type of weather.

Walks in the early morning, cutting mid-day walks short, and walks in the evening are recommended to prevent heat exhaustion. Don't forget: hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! 💦

For those in more urban areas, pet booties are an amazing way to keep your pet's paw pads safe, both on hot asphalt and in the mountains for protection from rocks and rough gravel! Check your pet's paws after each walk or hike to ensure your furry friend's paw pads are doing okay 🐾

💛 𝙒𝙀 𝙉𝙀𝙀𝘿 𝘽𝙇𝘼𝙉𝙆𝙀𝙏𝙎! 💛 Highlands Animal Clinic is requesting blanket donations for our hospitalized patients. 𝙒𝙚 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙨𝙠 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙙𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙨, 𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙨, 𝙤𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨, as we are fully stocked on these items. 🐾 As always, we are so grateful for our amazing community that always steps for the furry friends of Denver when it's needed most. Donations may be dropped off in the basket located on our front porch or at the front desk!

✨ PET OF THE MONTH ALERT ✨ Simon is our July Pet Of the Month for setting an example of superior bravery during his recovery from a TPLO surgery! Simon has been the most complicit and easy going patient despite this hurdle for him, but the good news is he's back on track and ready to show summer what he's got 💅🏼 We look forward to celebrating so many more action packed summers with this little guy! 🌊
