Gallant Pet

Gallant Pet Helping pets live better, healthier, more joyful lives—through science, compassion, and everyday care. Restoring Health.

Redefining Veterinary Care. Off-the-shelf stem cell therapies designed to treat disease at the source. Description: Gallant is a regenerative medicine company pioneering veterinary therapies that restore health at the source. We’re developing a pipeline of off-the-shelf mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapies to address chronic conditions in dogs and cats—including feline chronic gingivostomatitis (

FCGS), osteoarthritis, chronic kidney disease, and atopic dermatitis. Our first product, based on a proprietary uterine-derived stem cell platform, is on track for conditional FDA approval in 2026. Led by industry pioneers in veterinary regenerative medicine, Gallant combines science, purpose, and compassion to help pets live healthier, more vibrant lives.

Feline Chronic Gingivostomatitis (FCGS) is one of the most debilitating inflammatory diseases affecting cats, often causing severe oral pain, difficulty eating and grooming, and reduced quality of life.

In the first installment of our Feline Chronic Gingivostomatitis Educational Series, we explore the underlying causes of FCGS, including immune dysregulation, viral infection, periodontitis, and changes to the feline oral microbiome. Advances in understanding the immune pathology of FCGS have helped drive the development of targeted therapies, including mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) therapy, which aim to address the disease at its source.

We’re pleased to share a newly published manuscript from Gallant’s vice president of Veterinary Affairs, Dr. Rebecca Windsor, DVM, DACVM.

Published in Rare Disease and Orphan Drugs Journal, this review explores how mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) therapy may transform treatment approaches for rare, often devastating neurological diseases, along with observed similarities between some human and companion animal neurological conditions.

This work highlights the pivotal role of veterinary medicine in advancing translational science—and the opportunity to bring meaningful innovation to patients with limited options.

Stem cell therapy is being explored for several rare neurological conditions in humans given their potential immunomodulatory, reparative, and regenerative capabilities. Existing standard treatments for most neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative disorders are primarily palliative, focusing on symp...

Today marks Gallant’s next meaningful step toward transforming osteoarthritis care for pets.

Two exciting new developments:

🔹 FDA-CVM grants Gallant eligibility for expanded conditional approval for our canine OA mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) therapy

🔹 Gallant’s randomized, placebo-controlled pilot trial data evaluating intravenous (IV) MSCs in canine patients with naturally occurring OA demonstrate a strong safety profile with repeat IV dosing and positive efficacy data across all pet parent and veterinary assessed outcomes.

Osteoarthritis, the most common disease in dogs, is now understood to be an immune-driven condition that begins early in life. Advances in Gallant’s canine IV OA platform represent steady progress toward making MSC therapy accessible to all veterinarians and pets. With MSCs’ potential to control clinical signs AND address the biological processes driving disease, the future of OA management is looking bright.

Arthritis Awareness Month is an important opportunity to raise awareness and spark conversation around a condition that affects millions of pets.

Osteoarthritis is a common, progressive, inflammatory joint disease in dogs and cats. While clinical signs can sometimes be obvious, they are often subtle—especially in cats—making early recognition a persistent challenge for both veterinarians and pet parents.

As awareness around the importance of early detection grows, so does our ability to rethink how we approach care. Emerging research in regenerative medicine, including stem cell therapies, is expanding what may be possible by targeting inflammation at its source and supporting the body’s natural healing processes.

At Gallant, we’re committed to advancing this science and helping shape the future of care.

On World Veterinary Day, we recognize the dedication, resilience, and compassion that define the veterinary profession.

Behind every diagnosis, treatment plan, and late-night emergency is a veterinary team carrying not only clinical responsibility, but deep empathy for their patients and the people who love them. It’s a profession that demands scientific rigor, emotional strength, and an unwavering commitment to care, often in the face of complex challenges.

Veterinary teams are advocates, problem-solvers, and healers. They celebrate the wins, shoulder the losses, and continue showing up, day after day, for the animals and families who depend on them.

Today, and every day, we thank the veterinary community for the critical role they play in advancing animal health and strengthening the human-animal bond.

Innovation doesn’t happen in isolation - it happens in rooms like this.

The IVAPM Forum brought together forward-thinking leaders in animal health, all united by a shared mission: improving outcomes for pets through better pain management.

Our team had the opportunity to connect with peers who are equally committed to exploring new approaches to managing pain.

At Gallant, we see firsthand how regenerative medicine is shaping the future of veterinary care. Events like IVAPM create space for meaningful dialogue, fostering new relationships and collaborations that help move the field forward.

Today marks a dual milestone in advancing stem cell therapy for feline osteoarthritis (OA).

We’re pleased to share positive pilot study data alongside Expanded FDA-Conditional Approval eligibility, highlighting our accelerated path toward bringing off-the-shelf stem cell therapy to cats with OA.

Study highlights:
• 76.2% cat parents reported improved quality of life measures
• 81% cat parents reported improved overall wellbeing
• Consistent improvements across all veterinarian and caregiver assessments

Osteoarthritis affects over 90% of older cats and remains one of the most burdensome conditions for caregivers. While current treatments primarily focus on symptom management, our regenerative medicine approach targets osteoarthritis at its source, offering the potential for improved pain and quality of life for a minimum of 90 days after treatment.
