Saving Colorado Shelter Pets

Saving Colorado Shelter Pets Advocating for laws to protect Colorado's homeless pets and give rescues and shelters the resources to address overpopulation, pet retention and training.

We believe pets in shelters should be given a chance at adoption and only be euthanized for medical or safety reasons, not as a solution for population control. Solutions: Many shelters and communities across the United States and in Colorado have found ways to save every treatable/healthy pet that enter the shelter system. Some of these communities did it on their own, others passed laws to mand

ate shelters do what the public expects them to do: shelter pets and give them an opportunity for a loving home.

🚨 Colorado’s Rural Shelters & Rescues Need Your Help! 🚨

Right now, small, underfunded shelters, rescues, and spay/neuter organizations across Colorado are struggling—and the system isn't set up to help them. But we have a chance to fix that.

HB 25-1137 just passed its first major hurdle with an 8-4 win in committee. Now, it’s moving fast—with a second reading in the House TOMORROW!

📢 This bill would finally give rural shelters, rescues, and spay/neuter groups access to $1 million in annual funding—money they desperately need for lifesaving programs, including TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) initiatives to humanely manage cat populations. But we need your help to get it passed!

💥 What you can do right now:
✅ Call or email your representative and tell them to vote YES on HB 25-1137
✅ Tag & share this with friends who care about saving animals
✅ Find your rep here: https://leg.colorado.gov/find-my-legislator

This is about fixing a broken system and getting resources to the shelters and rescues that need them most. No Kill Colorado gets ZERO funds from this—we’re fighting for YOU.

Time is short. Make your voice heard NOW! 🐾💙

4 DAY SPAY & NEUTER CLINIC
PUEBLO, CO
CATS & SMALL DOGS ONLY (for now)
Thursday 10/24 - Sunday 10/27

Everyone in La Junta and Rocky Ford, listen up! SMALL change of plans. There was SO much interest in spay and neuter a couple weeks ago that we needed to change course a little. We did not plan on 300+ dogs/cats needing help so we had to switch gears so we can get some of your pets fixed as quickly as possible!

The cost per cat is $10 and the cost per dog is $25 (limited spots on Friday and Saturday for dogs, and no females over 25 pounds at this particular clinic).

Please sign up as soon as possible. Spots will fill fast!
Due to short notice, the location of the clinic is at the following address:

1240 Lake Ave.
Pueblo, CO 81004

(We are working to get the next clinics set up in the La Junta/Rocky Ford area in the future and for MEDIUM & LARGE dogs)

The amazing team at SLV uses this website for multiple events, so the price listed is *NOT* what you will be charged. When you check out, you will also not be charged a deposit. You will only be charged $25 per dog or $10 per cat.

If you have multiple animals, please register them individually. You can also update your pet’s vaccine history, but it is not mandatory to submit it for your appointment.
