💍 A Very Special Closure Notice! 🐾

On Saturday, August 1st, 2026, our clinic will be closed as we celebrate a very special day for one of our own!

Our amazing veterinary technician, Yesenia, is getting married!

Joining her on the big day are two very important members of the wedding party—her adorable pups, Toby and CeCe. 🐶🤍

We couldn't be happier for them and wish them a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable adventures together.

While we're celebrating, our clinic will be closed for the day.

☀️ Colorado Summers Are Made for Exploring—Not Parasites

Many pet owners are surprised to learn that ticks can become active anytime temperatures rise above freezing (32°F). Some species, like the brown dog tick, can even survive and reproduce indoors year-round, making prevention important no matter the season.

Parasites are more common than many people realize.
In Colorado during 2025 alone;
🐾1,863 dogs were diagnosed with Lyme disease
🐾1,698 dogs were diagnosed with heartworm disease
🐾 5,961 dogs tested positive for roundworms or hookworms.

Ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes are active more often than you think, and just one bite can put your pet at risk.
The good news?
Prevention is simple, safe, and much less expensive than treating these diseases.

🚨 Don't wait until the fireworks start! 🚨

The 4th of July is one of the busiest times of the year for anxious dogs and cats. Loud noises, flashing lights, and unexpected booms can cause pacing, hiding, trembling, panting, or even attempts to escape.

If your pet has struggled with fireworks in the past, don't wait until the last minute! Our veterinarians can discuss safe medications and calming options that may help your furry family member feel more comfortable during the holiday.

📅 Please call us before the 4th of July to schedule an appointment.
If your pet already has a prescription on file, please submit refill requests at least 48 hours in advance to allow our team time to prepare your medication.

A little planning now can help everyone enjoy a safer, less stressful holiday. ❤️🤍💙

🐾 HELP US FIND A SPECIAL HOME 🐾

Bear Valley Veterinary Care Center is searching for a loving forever home for three Chihuahua companions who recently lost their owner.

This sweet trio has spent their lives together and has already experienced a tremendous loss.
Our hope is to find a family willing to keep all three together. If that is not possible, one may be adopted separately, but two of the dogs must remain together due to their special bond. One of them has vision impairments and relies heavily on her companion to help her navigate the world.

At this time, we are not sharing photos publicly as we want to focus on finding serious, committed adopters who can provide a safe, stable, and loving home.

We will carefully review all interested applicants to ensure the best possible match for these deserving dogs.
