Temperatures have dropped in Denver, so we pulled all our tomatoes yesterday. Tomatoes are a climacteric fruit, meaning they will continue to ripen after harvest. Actually, most tomatoes you get at the grocery store were harvested green and treated with ethylene gas to ripen while en route to the store. Pretty crazy, right? 🤷🏻‍♀️🌱🍅

We spent all day yesterday weeding, pruning our perennial beds (shout out to the bee hive in the back right corner!), and trellising the cucurbits that have gotten out of control. The fourth picture is an example of what happens when you plant squash too close together and don’t thin it. I do this every year by accident and it’s always a huge pain. @ Crooked Beak Farm

Small herb harvest today from our perennial beds, mostly focused on deadheading. Deadheading is the removal of flowers from the plant to stop it from going to seed. It keeps the plant producing more flowers for a longer time. 🙌🌱🌺 @ Crooked Beak Farm
