Cohen unfortunately killed a dog and is on his last strike with the courts. He has the most dedicated, incredible owner who sees the same good and potential in him that I did!

To save his life, and to ensure that Cohen will also get to have some freedom- this is the level of calmness, deference, obedience, and control required. He *must* be worked around triggers to see if he’s truly learned and understands new boundaries. He passed the test today!

The hours and reps that went into getting him here, to this point, was intensive.

But to see him make these choices and get to play in public today and be a part of life is why we do what we do.

If you think your dog is beyond hope, think again - we can probably change your mind 🤍

Loyal Hound Client Spotlight: Jingle the !

This leash reactive dude made huge progress after our very first session!

A well-behaved dog isn’t just obedient, they understand environmental neutrality. This little one came to us needing help disengaging from distractions and learning that the world doesn’t always require a reaction.

Dogs naturally scan for novelty, movement, sounds, and changes in their surroundings. Without intentional training, many become hypervigilant, overly excitable, or reactive simply because they’ve never been taught how to exist calmly in stimulating environments.

Through our Denver-based off-leash and behavioral dog training programs, we focused on helping this dog practice calm observation instead of constant participation. Neutrality became the goal, not suppression, but confidence and emotional steadiness.

The transformation is subtle, but powerful: a dog who can simply be without feeling the need to respond to everything around them. That kind of peace changes daily life for both dog and owner.

Loyal Hound Client Spotlight: Gus!

Confidence isn’t about boldness, it’s about emotional resilience. This handsome bulldog mix Gus came to us needing more clarity around how to move through the world calmly without becoming over-aroused or environmentally fixated. He had severe aggression in the house and would attack strangers at the front door.

A psychologically balanced dog isn’t one that never feels excitement, it’s one that can recover quickly and return to neutrality. That skill, called emotional recovery, is one of the most overlooked aspects of canine psychology.

Through structured exposure, accountability, and clear communication in our Denver dog training program, we taught this dog how to regulate instead of escalate. Confidence began replacing impulsivity, and calm became the default instead of the exception.

The result is a dog who can enjoy life more fully because they’re no longer emotionally controlled by every passing stimulus. That freedom is what balanced training is all about.

Loyal Hound Client Spotlight: Frank and his badass momma! So proud of them-she and her partner became incredible handlers and advocates for this pup and he has made so much improvement.

One of the biggest missing pieces in dog training is teaching frustration tolerance. Frank came to us struggling with overstimulation and difficulty settling when things didn’t happen immediately, whether that meant excitement around people, movement, or environmental distractions. It meant he would use his teeth in an attempt to create space.

Many dogs today unintentionally learn that impulsive behavior works, pulling gets them forward, vocalizing gets attention, chaos gets engagement. Over time, that pattern reinforces emotional instability.

Through our Denver/Cololrado-based balanced dog training programs, we focused on slowing the brain down, rewarding patience, and teaching this dog that calm behavior creates opportunity. The shift wasn’t just obedience, it was emotional maturity.

Now, instead of reacting impulsively, this dog is learning how to pause, think, and regulate. That ability to tolerate frustration is one of the strongest predictors of long-term behavioral success, both on and off leash.

Asking Kaner’s owner how the Loyal Lassie program improved his relationship with his dog, who put stitches in his face prior to training, and was also otherwise extremely dog/human aggressive both on and off the leash.

I’m so grateful to have met them and seen the turn-around. 🥹🙌🏼🙏🏼
