A little Throwback Thursday from the person behind VEE! 🐴📰
I recently came across this article from the March 24, 1995 issue of Farmer’s Weekly, and it brought back so many memories. If you’re looking for me, look for Michelle Scriven—my maiden name!
At 17, I was one of six junior riders preparing to compete in the Supreme Equitation Championship at the Rand Easter Show in South Africa.
The challenge? Riding horses we had never ridden before in both 1.20m showjumping rounds and dressage tests—with just a ten-minute warm-up to get acquainted with our mount before entering the ring!
It was a real test of feel, adaptability, and being able to bring out the best in an unfamiliar horse in a very short time.
All these years later, horses are still at the heart of my life. Through VEE, I now get to share that passion with riders across different disciplines, backgrounds, and stages of their own riding journeys. ❤️
Have you ever competed on a horse you’d never ridden before? I’d love to hear your story!
