is a volunteer-run, foster-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation based in Northern Colorado and the Greater Denver Metro area committed to protecting and improving the lives of abandoned, abused, rescued, and surrendered Dachshunds and which is supported entirely by donations, grants and fundraisers. VISION STATEMENT
•To provide temporary shelter in a safe, caring foster home to stray, abandon

ed, abused, surrendered and discarded commercial breeding dogs for the purpose of finding permanent suitable new homes;
•To provide spay and neuter services and any necessary medical care to those Dachshunds in our care;
•To work with area rescues, shelters and humane organizations to develop a solid network of volunteers and supporters in order to create a better place for homeless Dachshunds;
•To promote public awareness and education of pet overpopulation, large commercial breeding facilities, health and wellness of our pet population and to educate on the value of senior, rescued and special needs Dachshunds.

Mila is an adorable 11-month-old, 12-lb dachshund who is sweet, playful and incredibly affectionate with the people she trusts. She loves her foster family, enjoys her foster sister and is happiest running around in the grass. 💕

Mila is also a nervous girl who needs a special kind of home. New people, unfamiliar dogs and situations where she feels frightened or cornered can trigger a strong defensive response. When overwhelmed, she may bark, lunge, snap or use her mouth to create space.

Mila needs a calm, predictable home with a patient, experienced adopter who understands fearful/reactive dogs and is willing to continue working on her confidence. Introductions to new people and dogs will need to be slow and thoughtful, and her boundaries need to be respected.

She can do well with a calm, non-reactive dog after proper introductions. Because of her fear-based reactions, a home without young children is best. A securely fenced yard would be a huge bonus—Mila LOVES her grass! 🌱

Underneath her fear is a funny, loving little dog who bonds deeply with her people. ❤️ She just needs someone willing to give her the structure, patience and training she needs to feel safe.

an anonymous donor sent all items off our wish list at Chewy.com to help our fosters with the pups. The doxies will have toys!!!🧸🧸🧸🧸🧸🧸
All donated are so appreciated as we have had so many dogs come in need of our help it really diminished our supplies.

We thought we would share an update about Charlie. He has been adopted by a wonderful family who will give him the best life ever.

He absolutely adores going on walks at Cherry Creek Reservoir, open spaces and trails.
His new dad Keith takes both of these dogs everywhere and has provided both his new sister Pita and Charlie some coyote protection gear for those walks and outings to keep them safe.
We are so grateful for Keith adopting Charlie and giving him a second chance ❤️

Mr. Boots is truly one of a kind! 🥰 This adorable tripod dapple Dachshund is sweet, loving, and full of personality. He absolutely adores people—big and small—and has plenty of puppy energy to share!

Boots would thrive in a home with people who are ready to play with him multiple times a day to help burn off that energy…because once he’s worn out, he’s all about the puppy snuggles! ❤️

He’s kennel trained, potty trained (with an occasional accident), and just an all-around goodest boy who gets along with other dogs, and feline friends. 🐾 As an added bonus, he comes with his very own personalized food bowl AND Christmas stocking! 🎄

Mr. Boots is the kind of pup everyone will fall head-over-heels in love with. We can’t wait to see him find his forever family! 🏡

This sweet baby doll is very special. She is looking for someone to love and someone to love her. She is a true lap dog and will follow you everywhere. We call her Miss Rockette. She is housebroken, loves to go on walks, loves to snuggle, does great in the car, sits, stays and waits when you tell her she will sleep next to you in bed, and she sleeps through the night. Kojo is available for adoption!
This sweet six-year-old guy is 12 pounds. He is affectionate and loves being close to his people, especially snuggling at bedtime. He does need a yard and a freestanding home so that he can continue the wonderful progress he’s made in his housebreaking habits.

We think he would be happiest as an only dog and no young children.
He would also be happiest in a home where the people are around most of the time.

He is a bit reactive to strange people and dogs on Walk so he will need someone who is a experienced with a reactive dachshund.
