Supporting your senior pet starts with recognizing that chronic pain becomes more common with age. During Animal Pain Awareness Month, remember that routine veterinary exams, maintaining a healthy weight, and personalized pain management can help keep older pets active, comfortable, and enjoying life. If you've noticed changes in your pet's mobility or behavior, schedule a veterinary visit to discuss the best care plan. ❤️

Independent, woman-owned, and rooted right here in this community. 🧡

Being locally owned means the decisions about your pet's care get made by the people actually in the room with you — not by a corporate office somewhere else. With over 75 years of combined clinical experience on our team, you get real expertise and the kind of attention that comes from knowing your name and your pet's history.

Does your cat do this? 😂🐱

The post-poop zoomies are actually caused by the vagus nerve, which runs near the colon and triggers a sudden rush of energy.

So your cat is not crazy... or maybe they are a little. 😉

Think your indoor cat is in the clear? Think again! 🐱

Even cats who never step outside can be exposed to serious diseases through airborne viruses, contaminated surfaces, or a quick dash out an open door.

This National Immunization Awareness Month, it's the perfect time to make sure your feline friend is up to date on their vaccines.

Give us a call to schedule. Peace of mind is just an appointment away. 🐾

🌿 Seasonal allergies don’t just affect people; pets can struggle with them too. Pollen, grass, mold, and dust can all trigger irritation in dogs and cats, especially during certain times of year. But unlike humans, pets usually show allergies through their skin instead of sneezing.

Common signs can include itchy skin, paw licking, ear irritation, excessive scratching, and inflamed skin.

Keeping paws clean after walks, washing bedding regularly, and staying up to date on flea prevention may help reduce irritation. If symptoms persist, your veterinarian can help create a plan to keep your pet comfortable year-round. 🐶

When the house suddenly gets quieter, your pet notices. 🐾

Back-to-school season can bring big changes to your pet's daily routine, especially after a summer spent with the whole family at home.

Help make the transition easier by:
🏡 Creating a quiet, comfortable space for them to relax
🕒 Keeping feeding, walks, and playtime on a consistent schedule
🎾 Providing enrichment toys and activities to prevent boredom
❤️ Setting aside time each day for attention and interaction

A little preparation can go a long way in helping your pet feel secure and confident as routines shift.

🐾 A little scratching can be normal. Constant itching usually isn’t.

If your pet is scratching frequently, losing fur, developing redness or scabs, or dealing with recurring ear issues, it could be a sign of something more serious than simple irritation.

Persistent itching can lead to skin infections, hot spots, open wounds, chronic discomfort, and sleep disruption.

The sooner the underlying cause is identified, the sooner your pet can start feeling more comfortable. If your pet’s itching seems excessive or ongoing, it’s worth scheduling an exam with your veterinarian. 💙
