🚨 LET’S TALK ABOUT PUPPY PRICES. SERIOUSLY. 🐾
I’ve stayed quiet about this for a while, but I think it’s time to say something.
Every time someone sees the price of a puppy, the first question seems to be:
“Why so much? I’ve seen them cheaper somewhere else.”
And honestly?
That’s okay. ❤️
If another breeder’s puppy is a better fit for your budget, I genuinely wish you the best and hope you find a healthy, happy baby.
But what I will never do is apologize for the price of a puppy that I have poured my time, money, knowledge, sacrifice, and heart into.
Because you are not simply paying for a puppy.
You are paying for everything that happened before that puppy ever entered your arms.
🧬 Carefully selected parents
🧬 Breeding planning and preparation
🩺 Veterinary care
🤰 Prenatal care
🍽️ Quality food and supplements
🏡 A clean, safe environment
🍼 Puppy formula and supplemental feedings when necessary
🌙 Around-the-clock newborn monitoring
⚖️ Weighing puppies and monitoring their development
💉 Vaccinations and deworming
🧼 Grooming, hygiene, cleaning and endless laundry
🐾 Socialization and early puppy care
📚 Knowledge built through years of experience
❤️ And countless hours devoted to these babies
And then there are the things you can't put a price tag on.
The sleepless nights.
The anxiety when a puppy isn't gaining weight.
The fear when something doesn't seem right.
The emergency vet visits.
The constant cleaning.
The exhaustion.
The hours spent researching, learning, preparing and communicating with families.
The responsibility of knowing that these tiny lives depend on you.
People see the puppy.
They don't see everything it took to get that puppy there.
They see the cute pictures.
They don't see me checking on newborns throughout the night.
They don't see the feedings.
They don't see me weighing babies and making sure they're thriving.
They don't see the vet bills.
They don't see the supplies.
They don't see the years of learning.
They don't see the sacrifices.
And they certainly don't see the work that goes into producing a litter before the puppies are even born.
So when someone tells me, “I can find one cheaper,” my response is simple:
Then please do.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with choosing a different breeder.
But please understand that different prices often reflect different levels of investment, experience, care, and standards.
I am not interested in being the cheapest.
I am interested in being responsible.
I am interested in continuously improving my program.
I am interested in raising puppies I can be proud to place into someone's family.
And I am interested in doing everything within my ability to give these babies the best start I can.
Steph's Pawfect Pups IS NOT BUILT AROUND BEING THE CHEAPEST OPTION.
It's built around passion.
It's built around commitment.
It's built around quality.
It's built around years of work and continued investment.
And I refuse to feel guilty for valuing that.
💯 I KNOW WHAT I INVEST.
💯 I KNOW WHAT I SACRIFICE.
💯 I KNOW WHAT I OFFER.
💯 AND I KNOW WHAT MY PROGRAM IS WORTH.
If my puppies aren't within your budget, that's okay. ❤️
You never owe me an explanation.
But you also don't need to tear down my prices because they aren't what you personally want to pay.

Find the breeder that's right for you.
And most importantly, do your research.
Because at the end of the day, the cheapest puppy isn't necessarily the cheapest decision.
And the most expensive puppy isn't automatically the best either.
Ask questions. Do your research. Look at the parents. Ask about health testing. Ask about veterinary care. Ask how the puppies are raised. Ask what support is provided after they go home.
Know what you're actually paying for.
