𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝑺𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒓: 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒚! 🤩✨ When the hospital needed extra support, Mary rose to the occasion. She has communicated effectively and consistently exceeded expectations while supporting Denver’s daily operations and ensuring that patient care remains a top priority at COEAH. Mary has been a strong leader and a reliable point of contact for both support staff and leadership during this period of growth and change.

Her open mind, integrity, and commitment to the team are just a few of the reasons Mary is March’s Shining Star. We are also excited to share that Mary has accepted a new role stepping into management as Denver’s Office Manager!

Thank you, Mary, for being such an outstanding leader. We look forward to watching you continue to succeed and make a positive impact on the team. 💙

‼️ Here’s a friendly PSA to check on your tortoises if you have dogs, especially this time of year! We unfortunately see an increase in tortoise injuries caused by dogs during the spring months. As tortoises wake up from brumation (also known as hibernation), dogs may have the opportunity to harm them before their owners realize they’re active again.

If you have turtles or tortoises and dogs in the same household or yard, please stay vigilant and help protect your shelled companions. ⚠️

One of the best ways to keep tortoises safe is to avoid leaving dogs, even the sweetest ones, unsupervised around them.

If your tortoise or any other exotic pet is experiencing a daytime emergency, please give us a call. 📞 (720) 856-2324

Meet Avicii, an 11-year-old leopard gecko who came in with an eye ulcer! 🦎 Dr. Fitzsimmons performed an ocular stain to check on his progress and if the ulcer is still present, the stain will highlight it. The good news? The ulcer is gone! But Avicii’s eye still has some healing to do.

❓Did you know that eye problems in leopard geckos can be linked to Vitamin A deficiency? Unlike some animals, leopard geckos cannot convert beta-carotene into Vitamin A, they need PREFORMED Vitamin A in their diet. Without it, skin cells can’t differentiate properly, leading to retained eye caps, swollen eyelids, poor shed, and even corneal ulcers. Make sure your leopard gecko’s multivitamin actually contains Vitamin A and not just beta-carotene!

Meet Magnus Maximoose, our biggest dental patient of the day! 🐰🦷

This gentle giant Continental Giant Rabbit came in for a dental procedure today, weighing in at 14.3 lbs (6.515 kg)! Magnus was so large that we had to get creative with our setup - a flipped storage container became his very own custom dental table (second photo).

We’re happy to report that this super sweet boy sailed through his dental and recovered perfectly. He’s healthy, happy, and now home with his family! 💙

Meet Esmeralda! 💙 This brave goldfish came to us with a large ocular tumor. Under anesthesia, we successfully removed the tumor and the affected eye. She’s recovering well and much more comfortable now! (The gel sponge you see in the after photos helps with clotting.)
