🐾💙 DOGGY DAY OUT! 💛🐾

Did you know you can take one of our shelter dogs on a little adventure? 🐶

Our dogs spend so much time in their kennels, and a Doggy Day Out gives them a much-needed break! Take a furry friend for a walk, grab a pup cup, explore somewhere new, or simply spend some one-on-one time together. You’ll help them build confidence, show off their personalities, and maybe even help them find their forever home! 🥹❤️

🐾 Appointments are REQUIRED! Please call the shelter or message our page to schedule your Doggy Day Out so we can find the perfect pup for your adventure!

📍 Denham Springs Animal Shelter

Sugar is a 1-year-old Catahoula mix who has been with us for an entire YEAR, and she’s still waiting for someone to call her their own. 🥺💔

Our volunteer has taken Sugar on multiple Doggy Day Outs, and she says Sugar is ALWAYS one of the hardest dogs to bring back to the shelter.

Here’s what our volunteer had to say about this special girl:

“Sugar likes to stay near a person, run, and hunt. She has a high prey drive and would do really well with someone who has a job for her, but what I love most about Sugar is that she’s so cuddly. She’ll lay in your lap and roll over at your feet, always grateful. Sugar is smart and could learn a lot with training. She does well with my 5-year-old but needs just a little time to learn the sounds of the house. At the end of the day, she just deserves a patient person that can give her something to get her energy out. She is a fan of AC and watching TV!” 🥹❤️

🎯 Looking for a hunting buddy or a farm dog? Sugar might be your girl! She has the energy, brains, and instincts to keep busy, but when her work is done, she’s more than happy to become your personal cuddle bug! 🐾

Sugar needs someone patient who will give her the exercise, enrichment, and love she deserves. She’s ready to trade shelter life for a life full of adventures, cozy AC, and couch time with her favorite person. 🏡💗

She’s already waited a whole year. Let’s find this girl the forever home she deserves! Please share to help Sugar find her person! 🐶💕

Meet Brandy, Our Sweet Little Hippo! 🦛💕

At approximately 8 years old, Brandy has perfected the art of stealing hearts. 🥹💗 She is gentle, loving, wonderfully talkative, and happiest when she has a cozy place to rest and a person who will remind her just how loved she is.

But don’t let her age fool you! This sweet girl still has PLENTY of s***k left in her and absolutely loves her toys! 🧸😂💕 When she isn’t playing, you can find her soaking up the sunshine, rolling around in the grass, or telling you every detail about her day. Brandy is full of personality, and we just adore her! ☀️🌱

She does well with other dogs, though a meet-and-greet is required.

Right now, Brandy needs us more than ever. She recently had a mass removed from her hip, and we are waiting for the results to learn whether it is cancerous. ❤️‍🩹 While we wait for answers, she deserves a quiet, comfortable place to recover—somewhere she can feel safe, receive plenty of love, and simply be Brandy.

We are looking for a temporary foster home where she can heal comfortably, or a loving hospice foster who can give her a soft place to land for however long she needs. We may not know what the future holds yet, but we do know this: Brandy should not have to face it without a family by her side. 🥺💗

🏡 Could you be Brandy’s soft place to land? Fostering her could mean giving her comfort during a difficult time, helping her heal, and showing her that she is cherished. Whether you can open your home temporarily or welcome her for the long term, you could change the rest of her story.

📩 Please message our page if you can help Brandy!

And if you can’t foster, please share her story. The right person may be just one share away. Brandy deserves sunny afternoons, grassy rolls, favorite toys, belly rubs, endless conversations, and ALL the love in the world. 🦛☀️💖
